Awesome - original version

Just to update my original M1 basket set file has now closed out the EURNZD basket through recovery successfully.. so this just leaves GBPJPY as the only pair still in major drawdown from last week..

In other words, following on from the discussion last week Awesome is doing a pretty Awesome job of self balancing following the drawdown from adverse news movement etc. I have little doubt that GBPJPY will also come to a close sometime this week but we will see.

Now that we have the time filters in the latest release what I am thinking is if Awesome M1basket is only run from Sydney open until London open each day then there are no concerns about swap costs so we can run all pairs and exposure to scheduled and non scheduled news releases will be substantially reduced.

This may then be a great option for starting with a smaller account?

Hi Guys,

A little update from myself using TJF's setfile. I am very happy so far

I do open my platform for trading 2 hours or so before London open, and close an hour or so before New York and let it loose again in NY.

I simply love the equity curve, so far at least.

do you close out all the trades or are they already closed ?

*just saw the loss so im assuming you close them out.

What Loss? If you look at the trade chart you will see that there is no drawdown currently. The days that I have had a loss and you see a drop in the equity curve, is when I closed all trades. It must be understood that if my take profits are reached and remember that Tjf's M1 set is only looking for a small take profit so I will close all trades in the session if there is some residue left and de-activate the Ea. I open the Ea againg for NY.

WaveGarrick, Hi, maybe to clarify fully you could tell us exactly at what time (using GMT) you start trading and what time you stop trading...BTW thanks for all your contribution

Javajames, I am gmt + 2. A very easy way is if I say 2 hours before london you measure your time zone to london market open 2 hours before.

Like right now,

It is exactly 18h28 in Sa and Ny has been open for 4 hours so I am closing my batch for the Ny session. The open trades on the table. I will only open my next set two hours before London tomorrow.

Furthermore,

This Ea is a little beast, if you have losses in the session close the damn thing. It makes losses up just as quickly as it loses it. And usually made up in the next session

This is an interesting way to approach this EA. And makes perfect sense as a semi auto trade helper in a way. In fact most EA's are best used this way and in experienced hands indeed become the friendly robot scanning all the charts for opportunities and entering before we would probably even discover them trading manually. That leaves us with the fun part, choosing when to bank profits and when to shut up shop for the day

However I also have high hopes of something even greater with Awesome. Could this be the one that becomes 99.9% hands free? Of course never 100% but closer than anything before...
