Attached is a TD version. It appears to be working.

Mind, it is distinctly over-named. All it does is subtract the slow moving average from the fast then print a green histo if this is greater than the close of the previous candle, or red if not. Awesome it aint. The inputs were originally #define variables so I changed them to user-defined. The TimeFrame input allows mtf.

The conversion appears to be working but I would appreciate one of you indi experts casting an eye over what I have done and upload a corrected version if you spot a bloop. Usual thingy - search for: // TDesk code

Very exciting times! As a predominately manual, trend-based trader, my strategies revolve around defining the trend and then taking bites out of this direction with a suitable signal. Often the trend is defined at a higher timeframe and then the signals are created on a lower timeframe. The problem with this is that you have to use MTF indicators if you want to see everything on one chart and there are "wet paint" issues with doing this.

My preference has been to find a trend indicator that can show a trend on your signal timeframe (in my case H1) without too much noise - not flipping from one direction to another. I've taken one of my favourites and made it TDesk compatible so I thought I'd share it here.

The base indicator is a smoothed Heiken Ashi but it is shown as a single line rather than bars - essentially the line just follows the mid point between what would have been the high and low of the HAS bars. ((H+L)/2). The default settings have served me well but I've left them free to be fiddled with.

BUT!!! This is not a MTF indicator and therefore you can not set the timeframe on which it is based. If you're TDesk is set to load up H4 charts then you'll get this trend from an H4 perspective. If you change timeframes on your charts then the signals back to TDesk will change. If you're happy to stick with one timeframe then this will work for you.

Try this one to see if it helps. It's a slowed/double smooth stochastic for current time frame and MTF. As you pointed out, MTF does repaint until the candle is closed. The calculation uses ema I think, so it gives more weight toward the recent candles, hence possible repaint.

For usage, lower time frame often drives the higher time frame. However, the lower time frame often follows higher time frame (trend).

I often look for lower frame over sold/over bought areas coming back to the trend to follow or crosses away from trend to counter trade/retraces.

Finally, got it working, thanks to Thomas for the snippet on "current time frame".

Here is the Heiken Ashi smoothed TD. Add MTF HGI (H4 and H1), GannHilo(H1) and TDIMTF(H1) as trigger, and you are ready to go hunting. I know some people positively hates HA candles but for me, it helps to show if a trade is progressing in the right direction.

So far, I have found automated trading using TDesk not rewarding. Too many factors in the market that is beyond our control.e.g.tweets by POTUS, Boris Johnson, etc. However, TDesk as a dashboard is an immensely powerful tool. Chart time frame = H1.

FYI, I sent you a UDB set file per PM yesterday, which you haven't opened yet.
The set file uses the original Heikin Ashi indicator though.
If the set file works and you like it you can post it in your post with the indicator.
