Trading 10.7 15M and below

Post by slowkey »

Bob suggest it and it sounded like a good idea to me that we open a scalping thread for 10.7.

5/8/2014 Padnoter gets a big Clap for building us the new T3MA_ribbon_multi indicator  . See all the new features below.

The new indicator ...

All discussion of the bundles and templates will now take place in my other thread now that both threads are in the same section. Just to time consuming to update two post ones.

So see post 1 at ...

Bobs individual Fourm-The Gann 10.7 System
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =38&t=3524

This thread will be for trading 15 and under only. There will be a new manual coming as soon as I can set aside a block of time to work on it. I hope to start putting a lot of trades on line and some videos now that the system has become mature. Hopefully my time will move now to trading and not system building other than refinement.

To get updated on a lot important information read my post starting on page 17
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... &start=160[/size][/b]

The following URL points to a page where I have a description of a 1 minute trading system along with charts posted and a bundle. It is highly experimental at this point. There will be more refinement but trading the 1 minute is a matter of judgement.
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 9&start=30

Below is the 1 minute scalping system. A little bit of the old and some of the new. See URL for details.

Five minute scalping templates below. Have fun. See explanation

The version 4_a system zip would make a good replacement for the 5 min zip file below which you can find in the Gann Ribbon 10.7 System thread post 1 and new manual. In the present low volatility trading environment trade the one minute in the london-NewYork session period of 3 AM to noon US Est. At other times you will be chasing price just to much of the time.
Better yet I recommend you skip the one minute and use the 5 minute with the new version 4.a system zip templates. It now has the new versions of the kino indicators with accurate 1 decimal point pips to ribbons.

Just a trade to get this going. GBPUSD ...
gbpusdmm151.png
Now look at the 5 minutes. Just a 11 pip trade but the advantage of observing the volume on both the 5 minute and the 15 minute was that volume on the 5 minute led the move. Leading indicator like. :)
gbpusdmm5.png
I could have stayed in a little longer but exited at the Daily Pivot.

Edit ... Actually I should have stayed in because it went on to the 1.6830 past the R1

So let us look at the whole picture a few pips short in my bank.
gbpusdmm5_mistake.png
So it just shot itself up into the sky and I should have guessed if it got there it was going to be easy going. Terrific example of breaking free from a consolidation. The large last Green bar is signaling that the move is probably over. Than a red exhaustion bar giving a sign of a near end of the move. The problem with trading 10.10 on the lower time periods is apparent. I exited according to the alarms but the signal line can gets pinned to the top. Price getting clear of the consolidation made the sky the limit.

So I will have to look at exiting related to tma or the stoch dropping back below 90 or above 10 possibly.

Just a really nice example of having a clear Profit level. Price hitting the Daily ribbon.

5 minute chart.

What I have done to improve exits is to turn off the 7_2 alarms. Will observe for 2_1 or TMA exits alerts in combination with Better volume, Heiken Ashi color changes and needle tops. Will observe where there is a Strongly Resistant or Supportive Ribbon , Round Numbers, Pivot, and the 240 equivalent average (15 minute) as a possible exit when a price rejection occurs.

Happy Trading

One thing is very clear. The Asian session is just impossible to trade this evening so I am calling it quits  This is a prime example of Risk Off and every body standing by the exits waiting for some one to yell fire.

USDJPY high to low 5 pips. AUDUSD 27 pips high to low, EURNZD 38 pips High to low. NZDUSD 15 pips high to low. GBPJPY 11 pips high to low. EURJPY 15 pips high to low.

Those into the AM traders good luck to you all. Maybe it will loosen up over the next few hour. Everybody must be watching China. US Non-Farm Employment Change on Friday. Doubt that is putting a damper on trading.

Putin sent his troops home I here. Who knows.

Happy Trading

So I have been working on the indicators settings for the 15 min and 5 min. Really helps to look at the code to see what is possible. You can see the changes I made in the 10.7/10.9 Indi Thread. When I think they are ready I will post them and adjust the docs some on how to trade these smaller time periods. Eventually videos of some trades. Any way I have worked many hours adjusting the indicator setting so will see if it panned out.

Happy Trading

Doug :)

I answered some questions that probably need clearing up about the Gann Ribbon System and its history at the following page in my older thread.
