SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
  • Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
  • Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
  • Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
  • This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
  • At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
  • To trade this robot, you have to understand:
    • How to use EA's. Remember to set IsGlobalPrimeOrECNCriminal to 'true' if your crim insists on two-stage order sending.
    • Bob's 10.7.
THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL EA NOT YET BEING USED ON OUR LIVE ACCOUNTS

Attached is Best Bob, the first EA I have created using the shell that Tommaso and I generated. Actually, it is merely the shell renamed, and with a few extra alerts when BB closes a trade, so I can see that the closure code is working properly. I will remove the alerts soon.

What BB does is described in the pdf. I have also attached the .odt file so you coders can keep it for updating when you release an ea of your own.

The attached indi merely has a statement cancelling all alerts - we do not need them with BB running. You do not need the indi on your charts - all the code is subsumed withing BB; it can help to have the indi on the chart so you can see why BB took a trade. I have attached my own template as well. Use it or not as suits you.

Impressive piece of work Steve. I will put it to the test right away.

There are so many thingies that I can't decide what to pick :smile:

Bugs (I think) for now:

Spread detect mode runs always when loading EA, even if I have this option set on false. Maybe it's not a bug but a feature :D

CloseTrade() order close failed with error 129: invalid price and BreakEvenStopLoss() stop loss modification failed with error 130: invalid stops. It's always poping out on first trade in the list of trades. But trades are closing it's just a lot of pop-up messages coming out. It can be about what you wrote here:

[wrong]Stoch seems to be calculated strangely. It was far too late on this trade it took on audcad. I don't really know how these numbers I pointed works. Second number is actual stoch's value and first number takes second's value in a time interval I think.[/wrong]

EDIT: Well, this was my mistake, stoch is working good, EA took trade on different TF and first Blue line number takes some time till it refreshes. :oops:

Yep. The option merely tells BB to rerun the initial calculation. It is indeed a feature. I describe it in the user guide. Possibly, If I don't, then work it out for yourself if you value your life here.

Not sure about the rest of the stuff in your post. I will wait to see if strange thingies happen on my platform. They have not done so yet.

I am also getting a lot of "CloseTrade() order close failed with error 129: invalid price" errors. OOTB except for 0.1 lot size.

Been running for about 1.5 hours now, 26 pairs has opened and closed about 25 trades, and it's about break even.

I I left it for the night, errors stopped at about two o'clock, I have no idea what caused it and why it just stopped. Maybe something about swap? From two o'clock everything is working perfectly good but one thing.

I have set five minutes to confirm yellow flip but it doesn't seem to work. Maybe I did something wrong again :|

Just to let you guys know that I also have had problems with the ea closing trades.

I have no idea why. This code has worked successfully for years, so not a clue why it should suddenly be flakey now. I made some amendments, but they appear not to have helped. Live with it until someone comes up with a solution. I am not going to spend my entire life trying to solve it.

Probably finding an alternative platform to that of Empty4 will be a major part of solving it.

Also, the yellow flip code appears to be working correctly, so I have bumped MinutesToConfirmYellowFlip up to 15.

I'm not a coder, so keep in mind with my statement... I have observed some EAs designed for the new builds send 2 orders. 1 for entry followed by 2nd order for modify.
