Slow but steady progress. The 3 pairs I tried have now all had at least 1 basket close successfully so going to add all the rest for next week.

I also tried a directional version on H4 just on GJ.. using short, long or both depending on D1 Superlsope short, long or range. This week has just been short.

I am adding directional functionality to CP and will post the update on Sunday. I am adding HGI, SuperSlope and Bob's H4 moving average as direction filters. You will still be able to pick your trading direction manually by disabling them and setting TradeLong/Short to define it.

This has the added advantage of making CP available to US traders; what with Trump, FIFO and anti-hedging restrictions, those guys need all the help they can get.

After a weeks full testing the only conclusion I have come to is to trade with the trend and maybe use a higher timeframe, so the above suggested improvements could make this a winner. Big loss Thursday but had opportunities to take profits through the week.

I have been beavering away for a couple of days. I needed to get done what I wanted to do by tonight because I am away for much of tomorrow.

The latest version of CP is in post 1. It is now such a different thingy to the one I posted nearly a month ago that I have reverted to V1.

I have added these directional trading filters:

HGI
SuperSlope
Bob's H4 24o period moving average
Peaky

Details are in the user guide. Updating that bloody thing took longer than updating the code. Feel free to ask questions that are already answered in it. Other members will thoroughly enjoy the subsequent evisceration.

I have started a new thread at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =87&t=5299 where confused people can safely ask their infant-level questions. I would appreciate it if those of you who know what is going on here could stop by and help out occasionally. I am going nowhere near it, as most of the questions asked in such threads in the past have aroused my killer instinct.

CP is a monster now. Does somebody care to calculate the number of different possible combinations of 9 time frames and 4 directional indicators? It would be fun to know. Many would clearly be nonsense, but I bet there are still a hell of a lot of potential combos. All we can do is play with them to try to find one that suits us as individuals. Well, us and our Resident Genius TJF producing magnificent set files. No pressure, TJF.

Thomas has solved the problem of the invalid stop errors and they should not recur again. He has also re-written the jumping stop function so that it is no longer reliant on the Break Even function. Coders, you might want to consider adopting his code. Many thanks Thomas. We are deeply grateful.

The masquerader that passes for my brain has turned to mush, so I am going to lie down in a darkened room and hit myself with a good single malt - cheaper than drinking it. I shall spend a couple of hours gibbering dementedly.

Have fun next week folks. No doubt there will be a few bugs, but they should not be difficult to squish.

Hm... it started with "let the price action dictate the trading". Now we are again with directional indicators. This way CP is more like stack by candle direction thingy. Grid trading reborn?

I started Version 1 with a few changes to the inputs but it started opening and closing trades straight away. To make sure it wasn't me I reloaded Version 1 and only changed the LotsPerDollopOfCash. Same problem. Below is part of the log file.
