SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
  • Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
  • Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
  • Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
  • This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
  • At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
  • To trade this robot, you have to understand:
MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS POST http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 41#p111241 There was a Forex bloodbath on Jan 15th 2015 that you need to know about.

You need the "SPB core library.mqh" file in your platform's Include folder. Download it from viewtopic.php?p=159559#p159559

This EA uses an HGI large trend arrow or blue wavy line to generate a trade in the direction indicated by your choice of Super Slope and Peaky inputs. It uses the Slopey Peaky Bob engine found at viewtopic.php?p=159559#p159559. Read SPB's User guide for information about everything apart from HGI.

The HGI inputs are:
  • EveryTickMode: this tells SPB to take HGI signals the moment they are generated. Set this to 'false' to work only with signals that remained in place at the close of the previous candle.
  • CloseOnOppositeSignal: close buy trades on an HGI sell signal and vice versa.
  • CloseOnYellowWave: tells SPB whether or not to close trades when HGI indicates that the market has entered a ranging phase.
A brief word of warning folks. This thread is not the place to learn about HGI and questions about its use will result in members' posts being removed and their posting rights withdrawn. Learn about HGI in Bob's thread.

Hello Steve,

The HGI column is not shown. Is this normal?

Please see spb family posts as it says

Note that the trade trigger indi is not displayed on the dashboard. The trigger is only relevant at the time it fires a trade so leaving it out saves having to muck around with the display code.

Hi,
You obviously have not read the post properly. As the previous member pointed out, it is clearly stated that the trigger column has been omitted.

Having said that, you can use the latest TDesk ea to show all the indicator columns. Just drag the TDesk ea on to a blank chart and set ShowSignalsDetail to "true". Then, on your SPHGB ea, set SendTDeskSignals to "true" and leave AutoTradingEnabled as "true". You are using TDesk ea dashboard to monitor your trades only, not for trading. If you do that, you should see all the indicator columns including HGI on the TDesk dashboard. Try this first and see. If you still have difficulty, I will post the set files for TDesk ea and SPHGB ea with the above settings.

On the other hand, if you would like to use TDesk and Desky to trade SPHGB, then use the link below and follow the instructions in the PDF on how to set up SPB to trade using TDesk and Desky. The same instructions apply to SPHGB.

Have a quick read of this post folks http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 20#p168120

I have looked at HGI and found some faulty coding. I am not sure if this is preventing trades on the H4 but it is sure to lead to some faulty trades. There are a couple of variables that need re-setting at the start of a loop that I had forgotten to reset. Fixed in post 1.

DIYers, do a search for: bool buyTrade = false, sellTrade = false;

Scroll down a few lines to: hgiStatus[pairIndex] = nosignal;

Insert this immediately above:

Code: Select all

         buyTrade = false;
         sellTrade = false;
I am going to go over the relevant code in the other versions to see if anything obvious leaps out at me.

V 1a is in post 1, with the hidden stop loss and scaling back in code added.

You need the "SPB core library.mqh" file in your platform's Include folder. Download it from viewtopic.php?p=159559#p159559

V 1b is in post 1.

I used this EA as the basis for one I coded privately for a member and it did not trade either. I went looking for the fault and this time found it easily. It is a while ago and I cannot remember what the fault was; I remember it was something really silly that I had overlooked.

So SPHGB has been on demo since. It is not setting the world on fire but has been modestly profitable. Fans of HGI might care to give it a try again.
