No manual intervention or trades. One fresh terminal on a VPS only running TheFLOWplusALR on EU D and Myfxbook on EU H1. Margin is fine.

sorry, I have no idea what happend, as looking into the logs, it seems that the pending Buy-Stop order was first time placed correct, than the EA tried again to place a pending order, what normaly only happens if the existing pending order was deleted, possible is that there was a spike causing the problem.nonlinear » Wed Oct 28, 2015 1:49 pm wrote:No manual intervention or trades. After looking at the logs, it looks like the ALR trade manager tried to place the first ALR buy stop twice. This might have had something to do with a new day occurring after the first buy stop was placed (just guessing).

Okay, thanks. I will run it some more to see if occurs again. The first pending didn't expire - very confusing.milanese » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:56 am wrote:sorry, I have no idea what happend, as looking into the logs, it seems that the pending Buy-Stop order was first time placed correct, than the EA tried again to place a pending order, what normaly only happens if the existing pending order was deleted, possible is that there was a spike causing the problem.nonlinear » Wed Oct 28, 2015 1:49 pm wrote:No manual intervention or trades. Tommaso, Quick question. How does the minutes to wait variable work? Does that only apply to pending ALR orders and if so how? I had it set to 120

Okay this happened again and I think I know the issue. For most US brokers, it is fine to have a pending buy order while a sell is running. All good. However, the sell trade must be closed before the buy stop is triggered or risk violating hedge restrictions. In my case, price touches the pending buy stop price, but the buy stop is invalid because the sell was a tenth of a pip away from closing at SL because of the spread (I think this is only an issue with sell & pending buys, not buys and pending sells, because of the spread). Once the sell closes, the pending is gone because it already tried to trigger and was deemed invalid. In sum, I need to either use instant market ALR trades or make certain that my pending price is a few pips away from my SL price (taking into account the spread).

The EA is unfotunately not concepted for US brokers so far, so the delay in closing the open order, if the pending-order is filled, can cause this. You should try ATC as US broker, than you should not have this problem..nonlinear » Wed Nov 11, 2015 1:24 pm wrote:

Yes, I have accounts with ATC, FXCM, etc. It's good to diversify.
