- Most Forex traders lose all their money.
- Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
- Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
- Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
- This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
- At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
- To trade this robot, you have to understand:
- How to use EA's.
- Bob's HGI indicator. Download an read about it at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =88&t=3964
- Dottybot. Download the user guide from http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 88#p146488 then read about it in post 1 in Bob's thread at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 101&t=4888
Tomele gets top booking here because of his utterly invaluable work at cleaning up the crap that was my original code. We would still be looking at umpteen 'Invalid ticket' etc errors without him. I am not being falsely modest here. I have not been in the mood to hunt down tiny details of late, so somebody else had to do the job and Thomas stepped up.
Thomas and I were speculating last week, that the direction of the first trade is usually irrelevant and that the profits from the various flavours of Dottybot and HGI and Dotty are mostly down to offsetting and hedging. I mentioned that I was considering coding a bot that merely starts with a grid of buy and sell stops and allowing management to continue as normal. Thomas came up with the name of 'Blindbot'. Pure master stroke was that. We all know that no EA can survive, however good its trading strategy, without a cool name. Does anyone here seriously think that a bot called, "An EA that sends a grid of pending buy and stop orders on either side of the market, and then manages the trades with a system of offsetting and basket hedge targeting" would ever stand a chance of success? I hope not.
Blindbot is an adaptation of Holy Graily Bob 'n Dottybot. The difference is that HGI is not part of the trade trigger. It is are invoked only to handle fully hedged positions. Choose your time frame according to how you would trade them manually or as you are in your various demos.
Bb will send a grid of stop orders on either side of the market. He does not care which way the market is going when he sends the grid. He will start to manage them a la HGB'nD (which I have traded live) and HGB'nD'nSS once they start to fill. HGI and SS mange 'fully hedged' positions and are irrelevant otherwise.
A quick note to noobs. Those of us who have been in on DottyBot's development from the start understand what is going on here, so I am not going to clutter up this thread with information already posted elsewhere. The Holy Graily Bob 'n Dotty User Guide describes the panoply of gridding/hedging/offsetting. Holy Graily Bob 'n Dotty is posted at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 40#p145240. Post 1 describes HGBnD and post 2 describes the full hedge trade that inspired the addition of the full hedging feature. I will draw all of this into one User Guide should this EA prove to have legs.
I have included sixths as an option for experimentation. If enabled, Blindbot:
- zooms the chart out as far as possible.
- divides the chart into quarters.
- only trades when the market is in the top and bottom quarters, avoiding the middle. The idea is to avoid trading when the market is most likely to go in for extended periods of sideways movement. It remains to be seen whether this is a benefit or not.
