News event monitor EA that closes/disables trading

Post by BolibompaNisse »

Hi Rene,
I have a question about the "Additional filter to target specific news…" I think the idea is brilliant and it was just what I needed to meet some prop firms trading rules. But how does the filter work? In my case I need to Close and stop all trades during for example specific news like "Natural Gas Storage or Bank Holiday but and no other news. I put low to high news to true and put in the comma separated list in the additional filter. Is this correct?

Almost.

The "Additional filter to target specific news" is not a list of filters, separated by comma's. It is just one filter. So, if you want to target only the news items that have "Gas" in their title, enter the string "Gas" for this parameter. The comparison is case-sensitive. We could have made this a list of regular expressions, but thought that this would be overkill and confuse the user unnecessarily.

I agree. SHF is a Forex trading forum. Coders could go nuts trying to accommodate every other possible combination of instruments. Best to try to stay as sane as possible, especially right now.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. [email protected] is the account.

Be patient. You have to wait until Steve sends you his welcome package. You must read and understand it to become a full member of SHF.

My mistake.

All these include files were already attached in this thread, so I didn't bother to attach them here as well. But I have now also included mql4-http.mqh to Post 1 of this thread. Both files are identical.

Hope you can compile now ... if not, you still have the option to use the .ex4 file.

Bro, both files LibFF.mqh & mql4-http.mqh from below directories are identical ya ?

I do not respond well to people calling me "Bro". A bit more respect on your second post on this forum would suit you well. Otherwise, your second post will be your last.

All the files you need are attached in Post 1 of this thread.

Just to reinforce Rene's reply. Morons are not welcome at SHF. Your post identified you as a moron. Post so stupidly again and it will be a race to see which of the mods bans you first.

Not that Rene needs my reinforcement. He is one of the most senior members of SHF with the authority to do pretty much what he wants. Just something for folks to consider before posting idiotically in one of his threads.

You think that both of these files are identical? I am no more going to confirm or deny this than did Rene. Warning folks: anyone else daft enough to do so is in serious trouble.

lowlaywei87, identify your one firing synapse and give it some electric shock stimulation to fire it into movement, and work out the answer for yourself.

Sorry, but you really are an idiot.

Hi everyone, is anyone else getting the following error in their experts log with this CloseOnNewsEav2.1?

2021.07.14 20:49:28.806 CloseOnNewsEAv2.1 GBPUSD.a,H1: invalid pointer access in 'EasyXmlNode.mqh' (175,11)

Prior to today the EA seemed to be working fine.
