As the site owner, I can see everything that happens.

You guys cannot, so to fill in a bit of history. A cretin called mg3d or some such had the temerity to question some of Rene's code. Stupidly.

Rene pointed out why The Cretin was wrong and deleted his post.

The Cretin tried again. Stupidly.

Rene deleted his post. Again. Patient guy, Rene. He has the power to delete The Cretin's membership but chose not to exercise his power.

Unlike me. Patient, I mean. This could have gone on for a while, so I have stepped in. The Cretin is now consigned to that group of dimwits able to do nothing other than read posts and download attachments.

SHF membership is not a lot far short of 20,000. Out of that little lot, there are a tiny handful of genius's. A really tiny handful. Rene is one of them.

So guys, when tempted to question Rene's code here is what to do:

• Think a second time about doing so.
• Gulp nervously and retreat back into the undergrowth. Your 'contribution' will not be welcome.

Keep on lurking silently until you have something useful to say. We love Silent Lurkers here at SHF.

Rene, thanks a lot for your brilliant tools, they are all a joy to use.

As i work only on a laptop and with trading Maddy on 27 pairs and a screen resolution of 1600x900 i could allow TradeChart only a 100 pixels on the bottom to still see the results of TradeReport.

This morning i fiddled with the numbers and took 4 vert pixels from each row. It is well compact now but still alright to read for me, and it save me 100+ vert pixels, so i am quite happy.

I hope it was alright to perform this minor operation, i think i tweaked all numbers correctly, and hope this can be useful for other laptop users too. (It does get tight when the numbers go in the millions, but no problem for me there ...

Sure, you can modify my code to your heart's content, as long as you understand that if I make changes in the future to the core version, you will have to download the new version and re-apply your tweaks, as I am not going to maintain two different versions.

I totally love the TradeReport. Absolutely amazing tool and so very useful, can't live without it

I use it to monitor an EA running on a VPS. I find myself switching between open trades and closed trades settings quite often, which made me wonder.....

I know I'll get the boot quickly if this seems too silly a request, but here goes

Would it be possible to have the report display split into 2 sections, with the upper being the currently open trades and the lower for closed trades?

Also, I see quite a few indicators with active "buttons" - could these buttons be included on the bottom section for switching between the options already in the indicator, today's trades, weeks trades, months trade and all time trades?

Here is a mockup of the concept; don't pay any attention to the numbers, it's just to visualize the 2 summary sections and the buttons.

I have moved this post to the TradeReport thread, as it was posted in the TradeChart thread.

The short answer is NO.

If you are still reading, you are interested in the long answer. There are several reasons why TradeReport can not be loaded twice (or more) First of, if you are trading or have been trading 28 pairs (or more) you can have over 28 'records' in the the trade report. On most monitors, this would take up the full screen. Only if your monitor is the size of a TV-screen and your graphics card sports over 2000 vertical pixels, you could possibly fit two trade reports on top of each other. Secondly, and this has been mentioned before, in order for the column head sorting to work, the mouse-click has to be routed to the right table and several code changes are required for this to work. I coded this indi several years ago and find the code quite 'clunky'. Ideally the code should be ported to make use of the ChartObjects class library, in which case it is possible to add a scroll-bar to the panel. However, currently I don't have the time for that.

In order to not leave you totally empty handed, I have attached an experimental version of TradeReport, that is loaded in a sub window. You can load multiple versions of them as in the screenshot below:

and the sorting should work. However, my earlier comments about running out of screen real estate still apply.

Thanks, I will try the version you have posted.

But I need to clear up your misconception that I wanted 2 reports on 1 screen, at no point did I mention that.

I can see where you got this idea from the mashed up picture I made but that was all I had to work with.

I was asking if it was possible to have an additional separate summary line in the middle of the report, something like what can be done in Excel.

Probably the best option, I will just use 2 chart tabs, it's only open to monitor the VPS.

PS: on edit, yes that works in the sub window, but now thinking about what you said that screen size would be a problem if they were above each other, that's true, but they would fit side by side easily on 24" monitor if it was possible to apply 2 Report to 1 chart.

In that case, the answer is a full blown NO. Empty4 is slightly different from Excel. Only slightly.

Do not bother me again with half specified change requests.

It will be nice to close trades directly from tradereport having buttons on the right of each row. For exemple if you chose to list by comment then when you hit button on the right it will close all open trades with that comment.

In the image attached i marked with red were buttons could be.
