Hey Khalid, Just to clarify entry/exit... Buy: Enter when bar opens below and closes above the line. Exit when bar closes below the line. Sell: Enter when bar opens above and closes below the line. Exit when bar closes below the line. So, it's an "always in" system. I can go for that, with a small enough initial risk With the scale-ins, I'm a little more paranoid... I prefer to have the first trade's stoploss far enough into profit to cover the potential loss of the scale-in... I end up scaling-in at the same point as you, but I feel more secure, as I'm not risking any more of my balance to scale-in. I wrote an EA to do that (and a bit more) for manual entries (move a box to trigger a trade), and posted it here... http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =47&t=3151 (I should update that for v6xx). I'm off to do some back and forward tests on the side Have fun! Radar =8^) |

Hey Khalid, Just tried a backtest, and wasn't getting any stoplosses... looked through the code, and found that the lines calculating the stoploss was commented out, so un-commented them. So now I get a stoploss, but it doesn't update, so trades are only closed on the creation of a new redline. Profit was marginally better with the stoploss re-instated, so that's one reason to keep them, but the main reason is that without them, you're running without a hard stoploss - lose connection, and your trades are running unprotected. I'll look at coding your scale-in rules, but will base it on locked-in profit. I'll make it so that you can choose how much protected profit you wish to risk on scale-ins, from all, to 1/2, 1/3, etc. I already have the code in StackMan, so it will be easy enough to copy and paste into TT. Take care, & Have fun! Radar =8^) |

Hey Khalid, I've got a better grip on what it's doing now, thanks I'm in the process of adding the scale-in code... Will send a copy when tested thoroughly, but for now, I'm off to saw wood (snore) as it's 5:30am here. Have fun! Radar =8^) |

Hey Bazze, If you want to change the indicator settings, just type them into the EA's settings... The EA will call the indicators using those settings Have fun! Radar =8^) |

You're welcome, gentlemen This is a long-term system, so I would recommend optimizing the EA on multiple pairs, them putting it on Demo for a long, long time. On the Daily, there will be weeks where you don't catch a trade on a pair at all, and, when you finally do, the trade will be open for weeks. That being said, it's still a worthwhile strategy I'll modify the RedZoneLINE indicator to match the EA, so we can quickly flick through our charts, and see when trades are coming our way... Will post it within the next couple of days. As for the VolOSC indicator, that works perfectly as it is, so, once we get the numbers from optimizing the EA, we put them into the indicators, and Bob's your uncle I am currently optimizing for G/U D1, and once that's finished, I'll start looking at lower timeframes to generate some loose change. Have fun! Radar =8^) |
