So sorry to hear about your loss Doug. My mother's life will be ended by Alzheimer's soon; I doubt that knowing it will happen makes it any easier, so my thoughts are with you.

Take care my friend, and spend a lot of time thinking back over the happy times you and your mum shared.

I will be back in a few months or at the latest fall to pursue trading again but for now I am reading, decompressing, working to restore my house which is my home place with some interior paint and trying to loose some weight with exercise so I can manage my diabetes better. Best yet I am taking time to listen to some of the great music of the masters. This includes American Jazz as well as classical music and modern masters like Philip Glass. I am also a huge fan of the American TV singing competitions The Voice and American Idol. So I keep busy.

I will be on here reading others threads to see what every one has been up to from time to time. But It is Spring and I need to drink in the sun and the flowers and the birds that my mother so loved.

I do feel that a burden has been lifted knowing Mom is finally at peace. I can remember Mom as she would have wanted to be remembered now and not by what Alzheimer's did to her mind and personality. By the time my mother passed she was no longer the person I had known. We had really lost Mom slowly over the last several years and suffered that loss. When she pass it was a blessing she did not have to suffer any longer.

It must have been hard to loose your mother so young.

Memories are good and make us who we are. That is why it is so important to find a cure for this disease. One of the things experts say can help is that Death Certificates state that the cause of death was Alzheimer's disease. That is a very important thing that should be done so that the disease can get the research dollars it needs. The disease is under reported because often complications of the disease are listed as the cause of death rather than the disease itself.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. I am sure she is with the angels now. MOTHER is the only person in the world whose love is unconditional and everlasting. My mum is now suffering from Parkinson and early stages of Alzheimer, so I know what you went trough. It is very very sad to see what was once a sharp and witty mind reduced to forgetting even the most basic memories.

p.s. for your diabetes, walking for an hour a day and a daily dose of one teaspoon of real cinnamon would be very helpful.
