The Captains Chest - Naked Trading & Other Stuff

Post by IanN »

Joe, Captain Jack placed a lot of emphasis on ensuring that you were not trading counter to what the higher time frame was showing - well until you got really really good at this stuff.

Somewhere along the way, Sympathy responded to someone's post that they should look at the Daily chart and check for three days up or down to confirm what they were seeing at the hour level.

Looking at the daily charts I think that:

USDJPY started the latest three move up on 21st following a period of accumulation on the 20th after the previous three moves up
USDCHF - the first leg doesn't start until 20th
GBPCHF - first leg starts on 21st
EURUSD - First leg started on 15th and completed on 16th followed by accumulation during 19th to 21st and into the 22nd when the second leg starts

I'm still learning this stuff so wait until someone like the Captain, Sympathy, Dudest or one of the other guys that are trading successfully day-in day-out can confirm what I am seeing. That way both you and I can learn from the same set of trades :good:

Regards

Ian, thanks very much for looking at my charts and your analysis. I'll take it away and study the level count again in the context of what you've said, which all makes sense to me.

Really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

However, I'm still struggling to put the theory into practice on my demo account. Most of my trades over the last few days have been losers.

Here are some of my level counts up to today. Am I just completely off the mark?

Thanks. I appreciate any help/advice anybody can give :hi:

I'm doing some homework on spread monitoring this few days to see how it behaves when reversal is about to happen...What I find difficult is everytime I'm viewing another pair,I always need to change the Tick chart manually to the current pair I'm viewing..It's a bit troublesome when monitoring so many pairs...

So this afternoon,I tried PM's Tommaso and ask him whether he have any 'tools' in his collection that can make this easier..Guess what.?Few hours later he come up with this tick chart indicator (as usual he's fast) and it works absolutely brilliant..

I have it now running on multiple pair on one of my Empty4 platform and it works smoothly..What makes it even more great is we can also scroll back to see the spread history...I believe this will help us tremendously to spot the reversal sign...Here it is guys,Enjoy!!

All credit goes to Tommaso for his Brilliant work.!!!
forexgeeker, please try and put your findings on chart so we will understand what you are saying ok. thanks for the info :D

Always remember that there is usually a stop hunt between levels 2 and 3.... never count this as a level!

Well done! Now I suspect you will be looking for the "W" to form at the peak low here and maybe play the levels back up?? Anyway, the 1st penetration to the low and the formation of the "W" can be followed by a small retrace and then the drop to the 1st leg of the "W"... just a thought.

Hi
CJ could You say something more about price mapping? How You know which pattern is this right one?Couse it's
quite easily to find map for monthly chart on D1.But when I try to find map for d1 or h4 on m15,m30 the similar patterns are usually a few. What then?how to recognize the right one pattern.

All the best

In all honesty, you should not be mapping price. No one seems to be successful in doing so although some have come so close at times.

Learn the levels and trade from those, that's where you will profit.
