The pullbacks would be something I need to tinker around with, I would be lying if I say it is going well at the moment..It is all fine when we catch momentum and have a nice run, as we did with 21/60 a few days ago...but currently I am giving back my gains :arrrg: . Maybe look at increasing the time between trades. but let me expand a bit down below in answer to Haggadah's question

Haggadah, I was running the single line method for a bit just to see how one trade was generated. with this method we would have to look at when a pullback happens, lets say in a downtrend price would cross back up over the 240 Ma on the 5 min t/frame. It could even cross back up over the 240 Ma on the 15 min time frame. Now we have be careful here because we have specified required signals in time frame 1 to 4 or 5 ( currency strength test) and 4 in t/frame 2 ( required signals) at least that is how I have set mine up. So if the ea sees that these conditions have been met it would open a buy trade against the trend which is down. Not what I want. I want it to cross back down below the 240 Ma on the 15 min t/frame and 5 min t/frame for me to get back into the trend. So we would have to look at including all the time frames up to one hour in the required signals ( currency strength test). Signals would also become a lot less but I am sure worth the wait. I could be wrong and if maybe Rene or George could help me out..then again was this system designed to catch quick scalps or longer term signals ? I could be losing the plot and maybe taking it away from its intended purpose.

The same conditions as above would apply for the Ma cross we have only been doing well because we have caught the run,, so the currency strength test on time frame 1 and 2 would have been ample to get back into the trend but what if the 30 and 1 hour 21/60 starts crossing over means are method is going astray :)

Anyway this Dashboard system and ea is a masterpiece and is only doing what we tell it to do...we just need to crack the code :)

Today's result is a stark reality that the EA will require manual monitoring and intervention. It is trading strength against weakness and this intermittently change per session and on daily basis. Therefore this kind of day can be expected and as soon as we see this kind of result, turn the EA off and close the trades. Remember I always say, we don't have to trade every day.

Rene is already testing an exhaustion option as exit strategy and we can wait for the result to see how the EA performs, and we can make our judgment calls after that.

Extending the currency strength test to HTFs will reduce signals leading to fewer trades but may not stop this kind of result.

Just my 2 cents

Cheers :hi:

That what I was saying some pages ago on this thread
now I think some traders are starting to see my point
this EA can not be profitable if running from London opening to NY closure

I've been profitable today, and this is the 4th profit day for me
the trick today was to close all trades at the London Lunch time

that's all

thx

Haggadah wrote:Hi Guys,

Letting the EA running unattended in not a good idea. The user guide clearly said and I quote " Also, don't expect that this EA with its OOTB settings is going to make you filthy rich. It is a tool and the user that drives it is ultimately responsible for how it performs. Therefore, you must do your due diligence and run it on demo until you are satisfied that the tool together with your settings is profitable.

Considering that a long trend could be traced its beginning from the shorter one, traders could exploit what the EA could offer. While shorter trend could be one of your bread and butter, looking for a longer term signals in them could be a good idea to start with.

Hi Haggadah I agree absolutely with everything U say. Thanks Buddy

Hi Guys just a quick Update.

I must absolutely re iterate that I am trading Mad on demo and will run it on demo for quite some time... I will only go live if I am satisfied that i have gone through every nook and cranny that this Ea has to offer :good:

Being an Ma trader I have my down days even on my live account and it is nothing to close a day or so in the red. This is all part of trading.

As Haggadah has mentioned we need to look at scalping as our bread and butter money. well for me bread and milk at least. :) and eventually scalps will turn into something bigger when the swings occur or trend continuations...

Currently my ea is recovering nicely with trades that have gone back into the trend....Yes agree we have to look at enabling trades going into London or at London open. My personal experience is that trades retrace going into New York. All depends on u if you want to hold for trend continuation.

will post an update later my settings are all still the same, well with some minor tweaks to the trade management function (Mptm)

Tc guys

Hi Renexxxx

I just started testing your EA MAD-EA v1.3 and found something unusual. It might be a bug.
My test session is between 15:15-22:00 my local time, so I entered +15:15,-22:00 into trading time setting. I did this at around 15:02, when I hit OK button to exit setting, the EA placed a trade immediately. Please note that In my screenshot my computer time was already 15:09.

Thank you for your great work and kindness to share the EA to community.
Regards,
Chidchanok

Yes, well spotted. This bug presents itself, if you first run the EA (eg. with its default settings) and then press F7 to alter the tradingHours parameter, as the new tradingHours are merged with the previous one(s). This will be fixed in the next version.

Cheers for that!
