Let's give you guys a glimpse of what goes on under the bonnet of shf. One of the first things I do in the morning is look at the Moderators' log to see what has been going on in my absence.

This morning is typical. I see Tommaso has been doing some tidying up. I see also that he has banned two user accounts - at 6.27 and 6.28 am. I am not sure he ever sleeps.

Here is what happens: someone joins in order to promote his/her own website/cause trouble; new members go into the New Members group, whose posts are subject to scrutiny before being allowed through; Tommaso reads their idiotic post and deletes the new member.

This happens time and time and time again. The whole process of reading about the first 3 words of the dimwit's post and issuing the ban takes about 30 seconds.

Other mods join in the sport as well because it is a fun game, but we have to be quick to beat Tommaso to the draw. Some people are afraid of me, but they are barking at the wrong moon. Tommaso is the one that people should really fear. I shout a lot, and do occasionally remove accounts but not often. Tommaso does it quietly and with deadly efficiency. He is a retired cardiologist; he knows how to be quiet and precise.

with the block between 2037 and 2116 line and the block between 2250 and 2357 trades are closed only if there are more than 2 buy or 2 sell or 2 buy and 2 sell trades. if you have just one or two sell or buy trades they will be closed only with basket closure.
Example : if price go down 25 pips it will open 2 sell trades after that if price go up 60 pips the two sell trades are not closed

Thanks. I have tried resetting the blocks starting at 2250 so the code checks for both sides being >0. It makes no difference.

Tommaso has checked the code and can see nothing wrong - and he is 10 times the coder that I am. Granted, this does not necessarily mean there is nothing wrong but I am going to keep my fingers crossed that it is a tester thingy rather than a code thingy. We shall see.

My attempted automation of the full flowchart is in post 1. I have reverted to V1 now this attempt is complete. We can start bug-squishing and method-tweaking.

It was my intention to start a new thread for the new ea, but there is much here that is useful. I am going to leave this one in place and delete all the posts up to Bruster sending me the pdf that I have worked from.

Keep playing with the simulator - that is breathtaking programming of genius. Keep the ideas flowing.

Really enjoyed reading this post Steve. Most of us do have an idea of how much you and Tommaso do keeping this place clean and tidy.. I am glad it is analogous to a sport.. That is funny.

I have removed the early pages from the thread and am redoing page 1. Can someone post a link to the latest version of the simulator please, so I can include it in post 1.

Don't race to download V1 from post 1 just yet folks. I am describing the simple offset closure method and had to draw myself a pic to visualise it. There have to be a minimum of 4 trades open and it is coded to look at 3. I will fix this when I have finished post 1.
