Not that it matters a lot for trading but I have a question if anybody can answer it. I don't think it was ever asked in the forum. It is probably more an attempt to reassess my previous knowledge than anything practical.

I spent some time in the past studying COT report and its possible use in trading. It did not really help me but still some dormant knowledge remains.

Say, right now the position of Large Traders on EUR is around 120,000 lots. Assuming the number used by Mauro and in this thread - 10,000 lots to move a price one pip, that is enough to move EUR 12 pips. Then it probably has to be further split between multiple EUR pairs so it becomes really nothing.

So the fox is totally outside of the scope of the COT reporting then?
