Scalping with TDesk

Post by SteveHopwood »

SERIOUS WARNING MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS POST http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 41#p111241 There was a Forex bloodbath on Jan 15th 2015 that you need to know about.

Here is a way of using TDesk to generate some (usually) short term scalp trades:
  • H1 trade charts.
  • TDesk will generate a buy signal when:
    • D1/H4/H1 SS are all > 1.
    • H4 Peaky is long.
    • 9x9 indi shows > 200 in the top right box.
  • TDesk will generate a sell signal when:
    • D1/H4/H1 SS are all < -1.
    • H4 Peaky is short.
    • 9x9 indi shows < 200 in the top right box.
  • Close the trade when 9x9 retreats back inside +200 to -200.
This is a variant of how I am dealing with those SPB trades that went such a long way against me during the summer. Finding 9x9 added the final piece of the puzzle so I have hedged those trades when there is an opposite direction signal. I have made $1,424 so far this month. Read about 9x9 at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 18#p154818.
  • Attached are:
    • the TDesk-compatible version of the 9x9 indicator.
    • Super Slope TD.
    • The peak hilo indi we all refer to as, "Peaky".
    • A setfile for TDesk. Note that all the alerts are disabled by default - I do not need them.
    • A template for your individual trading charts.
Download TDesk and its associated files from http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 163522#249 - you can probably set up Desky to automate the trading. You can experiment with some grid/basket trading using XY42 to send the trades for you - http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 84#p164184

Have a play folks and see what you can make of this.

Scalping with TDesk

Steve,

You are a mind reader. I have some code using the old libCSS in the single pair EA and was wondering how make that work in TDesk and lo here you are! Thank you very much for this.

My pleasure David. We are both after the same stuff - make a bit of dosh ourselves whilst helping others to do the same.

This thread arises out of one of those, "Necessity is the mother of invention" thingies. SS and Peaky make a potent overall direction finder. 9x9 adds the perfect trade trigger.

It occurs to me that HGI would be a brilliant trade trigger as well - especially adding to the position with each new signal.

Something else to play with tomorrow.

I just added this to the TDesk template bit in post 1: "Note that all the alerts are disabled by default - I do not need them." You will have to turn them on if you cannot monitor the charts all the time.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for this . I will give it a try. I have a query :

When you say HGI is also a good trade trigger , do you mean keeping 9 X 9 or in place of it.

Not sure whether my question is clear or not.

Regards
Sudhindra

Either, or both. Instead of scalping, how about only trading when 9x9 is showing strength outside the -200 to +200, then taking every HGI signal?

Scalping with TDesk

Is everyone else having a blast or did I just got extremely lucky starting my test at the right moment?

In 1 week I am up 10% and so far, the combination of 9X9, SuperSlope and Peaky, seems to have cherry picked only winning trades.
I started testing over an older demo which was going nowhere since last December hence the balance of 1036.76EUR; just focus on the current +10.36%
1 week in.PNG
I am starting a second test now...

Thank you Steve! :hi:

We have all learned how powerful is SS. 9x9 does the same job but much more sensitively because of the way it makes its calculations; it shows the start of an adverse movement very quickly. Peaky makes sure you are not fighting the immediate sell-high-buy-low configuration. This is yet another example of how everything is coming to fruition here at SHF. It will not always be such plane-sailing, but boy are we a shed-load more sophisticated than we were a few years back.
Thank you Steve! :hi:
My pleasure. It isn't just me doing this, mind.

looks really interesting to combine the 9*9 with the SuperSlope and peaky.
But one thing isn't 100% clear for me.
Theoretically you wpuld enter a trade wenn you have +100 or -100 in the Solo Signal column.
Will you enter when you have a 100% solo signal, or do you wait for the Super Signal?
Thank you in advance.
