I've just run a quick backtest, and there is something mixed up I think. The EA sends a buy when the stochastic signal goes above 80 from below, and sends a sell when the signal goes below 20 from above. Shouldn't be the order sending opposite of this (eg. buy when signal goes above 20 instead of 80)?

On the other hand it is so great to have a robust EA that works more than one week

But just for the record, I am a very young, spritely 45 yo
(well most of the time except for perhaps this morning, where I need more than a few tweaks to get me going )

Shelley, I have looked at the code for Gday.

In terms of my recent development as a coder, it is geriatric. It would be better to simply start again.

Sing out if you want me to do this, and give me a spec to work with.

Steve, it would be great to have a revamp, I am spending the next few hours doing some research on some improvements especially with identifying the trend and without changing the basic concept too much.

As for slope, I have considered using it and I have had a preliminary look earlier today. I do have some reservations as to whether it would provide the signal early enough using slope levels, but potentially slope direction could be useful.

I am making some comparisons between using slope & RSI and will post some charts shortly for review & comment.

Disregard what I wrote here about the trades. It was late night here, it seems like my brain stopped for a break by the time I wrote this. I've checked the trades on 4h timeframe, and the EA was run on daily. Of course the 4h timeframe stoch is different than the daily

Latest version of Gday is in post 1. It will show up on your charts as version 1, even though it isn't. I developed the habit of showing version numbers after first coding this.

Coming up is Dieting Gday. Now that we have Slope, there is a lot of stuff in Gday that we do not need - Hanover, CBI, all those trend-detection routines etc. Also, there is the conversion from working with points to pips that has come about in recent months.

I am actually running some backtests and will be ready for Monday
