Sorry for the Version 1.3 delay. Things happened that took away all my attention enough to not upload at the weekend.

Version 1.3 is now at page 1 and has...

-hop2fx's Corelation filter bug fixes including where it could not allow you to open another trade on the same pair. (100% Corellation). He also coded Corelation visualization. This is easy enough to pick in from settings.

-GetWoh is now inhouse as suggested by Baluda and a pm I got from mobthehop.

-I noticed many people want the ATR sl and thought to put it in this version. I think it is a great idea and a major improvement. Please see how it goes in the coming days. It is enabled by default.

The two WOH indis at page one are now gone. We can gladly forget. But... why was WOH 1x0 there in the first place? ;) It was not nessesary for the EA. It's mobthehop that caught that.

Cheers and let the party begin. :) Gotta go back to page 1 and describe some settings.

Kind Regards,

Alex
Thanks Alex. The ATR 5 stop loss will be well worth it. Can´t wait for Recovery and a solid exit method.

Great work !!
I got kicked about by the Recovery implementation that I had to rethink it. I believe that to gain from recovery, the recovery entries need to be very precise otherwise we are left watching price miss by a whisker a recovery trade entry and then retracing long enough that if we were in a recovery trade we can recover AND then a heading back into the red!

I also have an interesting reply on recovery from censura a few posts ago that discusses hedging. He makes some good points. I also realized that the EA won't trade the opposite direction that we are trying to recover from (some sort of hedge trade). Need to see why.

I totally agree we need a solid exit. Several times I have seen pip gain turning into a loss that could have been avoided with a solid exit. Thanks a lot for the exit ideas you posted. They are brilliant and should go into the EA asap!

Always glad to contribute...

The first two exit options will give us TPs that make technical sense, the third one will serve as the safety net to catch all the trades that didn´t make it to the first two targets. There is nothing more frustrating in trading than giving up hard earned pips and turning a winner into a loser.

You are correct. The EA will not enter the recovery trades with the preestablished rules. I guess we´ll have to live with the new stop loss. That´s ok. The entries are very solid. With some good exit strategies, this EA will have few losing trades to recover from.
Observation is the path to discovery.

I have been trading nb systems since 2009 since 2011 i handle recovery differently from how i used to where i strated with a fixed recovery level say 200. What i do now is i have a level 100 if a trade goes into -100 I hedge it ie place a opposite trade to fix my loss at that point.

The reason for this being for along time i would hit the stop start recovery and see it go to level 3 or 4 and on really really bad time wipe an entire account out. In essence i did not know if the trend would reverse or infact that was it the trend had changed and i was the wrong side of it.

Now and especially with the new nb 10.2a I am very confident that this approach of hedge is the best way forward.

So - 1 .We hit a drawdown level of 100 we hedge

2. We wait until a) The trend returns and the conditions for a normal entry are triggered and enter a trade in the direction of the first trade. b) we se the trend has reveresed and a trade is triggred in the opposite direction to the first ie the daily, weekly, monthly have flipped and slope value is now -08 or less ( assuming origional trade was a buy)

Hope this makes sense. What would be useful is the hedge trade being an option in this auto ea with variable of level ie -100pips, -200pips ect for when hedge triggered and lot size.

This strategy also allowed me to match lossing and winning trades on the principle of let your winners run and cut your losses

let me know what you think
Hi censura,

You make some very valid comments. And after the last week testing the recovery implementation I did, I am looking to implement some hedging ideas you suggest and to give the user control of the application of recovery or hedging. Preferably before and during the first trade entry. The AUDUSD last week turned around and rallied at the monthly support 1 just after I had gone short. Recovery went on it's knees on that rally :(

But I don't really agree on fixed stop. The EA got short the Euro last week, I am still short, and market conditions changed a lot. If the EA was not short, I am sure at some point, it would have looked for longs.

I think the stop should not be fixed, the EA should get you out when market conditions changed, based on same rules as to get in trades. Same goes to Profit taking. This might be quite hard to program, but until then, I don't think this EA could ever be left alone.

But anyway, from what I have seen, this has great potential and thanks for taking the time to put it out.
You have it exactly right. This EA is a great trade entry monitor for many pairs at the same time, which is not easy to do manually. Unfortunately, it is not quite there yet at exit time. The way I see it, exits can be coded in any of these three ways:

1- The EA could exit at s/r 1 or 2, depending on the volatility of each pair in accordance with Bob´s Pair Volatility table or user selectable.

2- The EA could exit at opposite band of H1, H4 or D1 TMA, period 20, ATR multiplier 2.0 (User selectable).

3- Finally, exit can be implemented when H4 20 period Slope value drops under 0.40 for longs or rises over -0.40 for shorts.

Numbers 2 and 3 would be my preference. I currently exit at cross of opposite H4 or D1 band with my manual system.

Ideally, the ability to select any of the 3 methods would be great, but at least, one of them should be available to seriously consider running the EA live full time.
I failed to mention that the conditions above would apply only to trend trades, since range trades, I believe, already have exit conditions in the current code at relevant s/r levels.

EA Took a long on EURUSD and the new ATR calculated stop loss was precise at 101 pips. Now to see how it plays.

FFCal News Indicator

I've been trading your updated version 10.2 EA for the past few weeks, and really think one of the last things missing is some some way to avoid trading during high impact news. I use FFCal (attached) on my charts and was wondering if you can add the indi into NB? For example I've attached the parameters from Topbot EA that also uses FFCal...

Thanks, Jason

Alex,

I came across this code in the LookForD1TrendTrade() function:

Code: Select all

//Buy trigger
if (type == OP_BUY)
{
	//Find the relevant ma to cross
	target = GetHighestMovingAverage(PERIOD_D1);
	if (Bid > target && bias == up && VerifyCrossOver(Bid, target))
	{
		if (iLow(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 0) < target || iLow(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 1) < target)
		{
			SendLong = true;
			TradeOrigin = D1TrendTrade;//TradeOrigin is used by CalculateTakeProfit()
			magic = D1TrendTradeMN;
			comment = D1TrendTradeComment;
		}//if (iOpen(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 0) < D1BlueMaVal || iOpen(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 1) < D1BlueMaVal)
	}//if (Bid > target)

	//Find a monthly pivot cross
	if (Bid > MonthlyPivot && bias == up && VerifyCrossOver(Bid, MonthlyPivot))
	{
		if (iLow(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 0) < MonthlyPivot || iLow(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 1) < MonthlyPivot)
		{
			SendLong = true;
			TradeOrigin = D1TrendTrade;//TradeOrigin is used by CalculateTakeProfit()
			magic = D1TrendTradeMN;
			comment = D1TrendTradeComment;
		}//if (iLow(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 0) < MonthlyPivot || iLow(NULL, PERIOD_D1, 1) < MonthlyPivot)
	}//if (Bid > target && bias == up)
}//if (type == OP_BUY)
This sets up triggers for long trades based on the Bid price. Shouldn't this be the Ask price?
