Hello Fellows,
Pooler is still trying to work out the problems with strategy 2. I'm also testing strategy 2 with the default settings on the chandilier stop, and using the values in his latest spreadsheet.
Here is a myfxbook link on how its going

Atm its in drawdown due to jpy and chf strength. Need the inevitable pullback hehe

Thanks for this. Is there inconsistencies with the hedge for different currencies? Looks like it?mantkinth wrote:Hello Fellows,

What do u mean by inconistencies? Hedge is working as per Pooler strategy 2 for the most part that I can see.

I noticed some currencies had hedges in place at the start some have less hedges in placemantkinth wrote:What do u mean by inconistencies? Hedge is working as per Pooler strategy 2 for the most part that I can see.
Correct me if I'm wrong I'm looking at the account through an iPhone small screen.

Eg USD/JPY has less hedges and is at level 5.
Unless some of the buy hedges were closed out?

Yeah they were closed out due to the chandilier trailing stops. I've enabled the comments in teh settings for the myfxbook account, so you can see if its a hedge trade/ or a normal trade, but i can't get it to show up lol

Re: POOLER/SAN Stunning generosity
See EJ chart today.
I had to switch my computer off so EA stopped working at level 5. I added the rest of the levels as price went up. The TP for strat 1 should be at the solid red line (not the lower dotted one). The hedge for strat 2 is trailing Chandelier Kv =3 ATR. As per hedging strategy where it trails according to whichever of Chandelier or strat 1's TP--is closest to price. Thanks Mantkinth--its working great. I'll mail you just now with some improvements
I've set the EA at 20 pips between levels, Strat 1 (sells) start at .02 and increase by .01 each level. The hedging strategy (strat 2) opened buys at each level at .01 lot each.
From Pivot line to where price is now is 165 Pips --its filled up to level 8.
If this trade closes now as per chart then this trade would profit as follows. Strat 1 sells = 12 pips. Hedging strat 2 buys-- level 1 = 117p's, level 2=97, level 3=77, level 4 = 57, level 5 = 37, level 6 = 17, level 7 = - 3, level 8 = -23--Total strat 2 Hedge = 376 pips. Plus strat 1 12 pips =overall total of 388 pips profit for a 165 pip move.
It works great when price takes off like today. I've been trying to get the settings correct where you still make a small profit if only level 1 is filled and price turns (retraces) and hits Strat TP--which I've managed. If it only went to level 1 and retraced it would have made 5 pips.
So essentially I've flipped the original strategy 1 on its head. The hedge (strategy 2) is now the main aim. What I'm now aiming for is to cash in when price runs like today---but if it doesn't you still get out with a profit--just smaller.
Most trend trading strategies say you must be prepared to take a lot of small losses with tight stops so when you catch the big move it will cover the losses and then some. I'm saying... hell yeah--I'm all for that but I still want to make a (small) profit when I'm wrong.
Just need to iron out some kinks with MKinth and do some testing

Hi Pooler,
This is very interesting, are all trades controlled by the EA you have attached?
Thanks,
Anpar
