Swissquote, no ECN broker, cuz-set, only buys, only winning trades.

Hi Mike, AGT,
good to see i'm not the only one picking this up.
I'd like to see an ECN crim do the 'buys' only, anyone?

I must say that i think ECN is a better or safer way to trade. Based on what i'm reading. I find dealer desks to be similar to 'bookies' of the old days who can manipulate, although ECN crims can also do that, i think they are more electronically geared to deal with trades. Bookie style just sounds old-fashioned meaning slow. I'm probably worng, but use both anyway.

I'm just working trough this blog to try and get my own demo of TG going, and I have a question...

Do i run only one copy of the EA and it just looks for the SuperTrend indi on any of you charts, or do i run the EA on every pair that i want to trade...?

Any help would be appreciated...

Hi Wiggy,
set up on the charts you want to trade TG on, making sure the indicator as-is in post 1 is in your experts/indicator folder. This EA is not a multitrader, but might evolve into one if Steve sees theres enough in-it to warrant the time spent.

The trend indi doesnt need to be on the chart itself, only the EA obviously. You can set it up with the indicators you use already or leave it blank showing only the EA's comments on the left of the screen.
If you choose to run MPTM for trade management, then you need another chart, any pair chart but use 1m EURUSD if you not sure. You can use this chart for other indicators too to get a glimpse of the markets.

Sorry, just to be clear, if i want to run 6 pairs, then i need the 6 charts open all running their own copy of the EA....I don't need the indicator on the chart, but it wont hurt....!

I assume putting the indicator on just eats up CPU time....!

Yes,
the indi doesnt seem to eat-up on the cpu, but sometimes people want a clear view of what the EA is doing, its really up to you. The older EA's needed the indis always on the charts, so we just getting used to the idea of not having indis on the charts now-a-days.

dont forget the chart for MPTM if you choose one, so it will be 7 open charts. MPTM assumes the trade managemnet but the spreads must be similar on yuor chosen pairs, otherwise you might pick up issues with those pesky 130/1 errors. I forget what they are again, but generally people avoid the high spread pairs, difficult to combine a single set for MPTM if the spreads differ a lot. Alternatively, keep this in mind when setting up the TP's or SL's JS's etc in trendy Gary, volaitility differs between pairs as you know.

Wiggy, you seem to be getting those sells, Watch the positions and see when they close. With my setup , i get strange closures that dont make sense, or at least i cant see where in the settings or code its supposed to close, but they are usually losers and this seems to be a bug. I cant recall if this is why i started using MPTM, but the sign seems to be if you get buys, then they should all be winners. Waiting for someone to look at the code and see if anything pops up. I have compared as stated before and cant understand why there is a difference across platforms.

Thanks Guys, as i thought...

fok, my chart look almost identical....I am however using a single instance of MPTM to manage my TG charts using a unique magic number, it seems to be working ok as im long in two trades at the moment swissy and audcad.... I turned of the swap filters as i didn't want this to get in the way of the EA trading until I'm sure i have it working ok....I have not seen a short trade as yet and I'm across two brokers FinFX and GFT....I'm about to set it up on my Axi account now (non ECN) account...

Guys, i have just notices these two entries in my expert log....

The first one appear to the the Swissy buy which I'm currently in, the the second sell statement does not make sense....
