I have been playing with another strategy but thought this might be of interest to the BASA crew?

I was wondering if you'd considered Renko bricks with BASA?

Here is a 10pip brick, with 10 + 100 LWMA (Weighted). Nice smooth price action

Never met a Renko system that failed to look good on the charts. All those seductive candles all heading in the right direction.

Never yet met a Renko system that worked in actual trading.

In 7 years of doing this stuff.

This is one of those, "If it were that easy then we would all be doing it and would be rich, but it isn't so we aren't." thingies. There are loads of them. The most basic is the trading the cross a slow moving average by a quick one. Looks obvious on the chart etc

No idea why Renko does not work. It should. Fact is, it doesn't. Go ahead and work it out for yourself. If you can work out why it does not work, you will have answered one of the ineffable mysteries of Forex trading - why something seemingly perfect does not work.

Can you see if there is any benefit in adding this rule:
If price does not close above the high or close of Entry Candle Shift 1 within +X candles of entry candle, exit the trade.

Was thinking that X could be 1 or 2.
In layman terms, if trade does not take off within 1 or 2 candles of entry, exit the trade to avoid dragging around.

Would this help to eliminate some of the unsuccessful trades ?

If you add it to your EA it will be great but please make it user input so one can decide on the amount of candles.
As a example 2 candles 4h, 4 candles 1h.

Just happened that there is a trade on the GBPUSD for me on the 1H that is dragging its feet.
Also looking at some of the history that Shelly posted, it seem like a good idea to pick trades that are able to make higher highs or lower lows within 1-2 candles of entry and cut losses early on those that still remain indecisive after 1-2 candles.

It would nice if Shelley or Steve or anyone else with a lot of experience on BASA can confirm on this before it is implemented.
