Just took a look and unless I'm reading it wrong, I see you are up over 1,000 pips for the day! :!!:

I may as well ask the question that everyone is thinking. Are you planning on releasing the EA to the forum?

Yes but he also has over 2000 pips in floating DD....

True. But even including that floating DD, his equity is up 9.5% in 8 days. I would take that...

Hi,

I am using several demos (6) that help me to improve the parameters of the two EAs that are trading my live account.

From these demos, that are running from the beginning of December, I can say that the max DD has been for the most aggressive of near 50 % with a profit of 150 % (in two months). The most conservative has earned 65 % while maintaining the DD under 20 %.

I have also stated that this live account of mine is an experiment of faith, and this faith is maintained tweaking every day the live EAs in my account, taking into consideration the daily results of the demos mentioned.

I am now a full time trader (with an important capital in my live account), and from time to time I modify the parameters and the EAs. Manual trading causes me high stress and I am not using it. Also I do not think that any EA is invulnerable and effective in all situations. The EAs are helping me, but the daily analysis is necessary. You can think that these EAs are semiautomatic because they are not a finished product (perhaps never will be), and they will not be posted here for now.

EDIT: As a matter of fact I have mixed now the two EAs in one, because they were opening very similar positions. Now they will cover their positions without duplicates, and will use scaling out and trailing.

Regards

Hi,

I have been doing today the transition of my live account to the last version of Empty4, and for now I have not had any problems. Some days ago I converted the EAs and libraries to the new version, but as a matter of fact it was not neccessary. The only difference I have experienced regarding the last Empty4 is that the actual runs faster and uses less memory.

Let's see. Talking about my live account I have received some emails asking me which EA or EAs I use. There were some praises and some criticisms that I am posting here for you to read. Anyway I am grateful, because these mails make me think and correct the EAs if neccesary:
OK, I'm sure that you're trading Xmeter and Crossfader. And I tracked all your posts through the forum to understand how do you trade crossfader when its developers failed to do so!
Can you tell me how did you tame crossfader in your live account? If you don't want to say, it's OK.
I kept refreshing your account yesterday every 1 hr and I was astonished by the ongoing trades. The recovery trades are being fired precisely, I don't know how you managed to do so, but it's brilliant.

Do you think these quotes reflects the behaviour of my live account?

Regards

I do not know enough about CrossFader to gauge, but I reckon that it is tough to tell too much from your trades. You have some that look xmeter-ish, others that do not at all (like that lone wolf GBPJYP tade :o ). Either way, hope you make it big -- precious few stories of traders who make it long term in the Spot market, particularly with EAs. Keep at it Jose and prove the masses wrong!

Many thanks nonlinear for your encouragement.

What I am trying to program is the aplication of the pure theory of the EAs in one EA, as described in the following paragraph. For that I have taken elements from xMeter, Crossfader, ForexRobot, BigMac, Marilyn, Basa and Blessing.

All these EAs have strengths and weaknesses, but they are inherently good. I admit that I have one or more lone wolfs (GBPJPY), but the process of constructing one EA using your live account as a battlefield is hard and if you use stop losses using a grid system you will loss the perception of the accuracy of your system. I am happy because my EA has not tried to open any other buy GBPJPY from the first position and for that it has not repeated the same error.

An expert advisor can be designed to trade many different strategies. They can include grid strategies, hedging strategies, martingale and reverse martingale strategies, trend following strategies, correlation strategies - you name it. Additionally, you can choose to combine one or more strategies together.

Forex expert advisors can trade breakouts, news announcements only or they can be scalping expert advisors which aim to secure small profits as soon as they are avaliable. An expert advisor can be programmed to do whatever you like - the possiblilities are truly limitless.

Classic EA's look to trade bounces off of support and resistance and reversals. They enter trades when a high probability setup looks like occuring. Many expert advisors come with trailing stop losses - a feature which helps you lock in profits. They can also be programmed to monitor market conditions for reversals and then close your trade immediately when these conditions are met to lock in profits as well.

More advanced EA's can trade multiple pairs simultaneously or monitor multiple timeframes at once, giving you a wide range of options in picking a market trend - something that would take you hours if you had to do it manually.

The type of EA you choose to trade with should sit well with your overall trading style. Playing around with its risk-settings while it is trading live will give you a better feel for what it does well and you will learn it's characteristics better. If you understand what it is doing, you will have more confidence in it to ride out a bad performing patch while you continue to monitor and play with its stop-loss and take-profit levels.

While the point of forex expert advisors is to automate your trading decisions and improve trading consistency by taking emotions out of your trading, you still must pay attention to what the expert advisor is doing. This is especially relevant if your expert advisor is automatically set at a wide stop-loss of say 100 pips or more.

Hi friends,

I have added a second EA to my live account with the proposal of covering the positions of the first EA. Now the definitive EAs are chosen.

The only thing that remains unsolved is the stacking question. I will dedicate the next days/weeks to mastering stacking. Perhaps it is an excessive asertion, bur I think that stacking is what differentiates winner EAs.

By the way here are the results from the first days of December 2013 of one of my accounts:
