Fractalated Bob

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

Hmmm anyone here with similar losses like I had with the v1a ?
:?
I'm a bit "surprised" - bcz I understood, that the newer versions - now v1e is the latetst - are expected to work better then the former ones ? ;)

FB is taking the trades as ordered, new versions still need good settings, that is what this community is for. :-)

I've marked approximately most of AGTs group of losing trades on a H1 chart to illustrate how CSS helps filter entries. I've got H4 CSS set to ignore future. Blue lines mark buys, red sells. 2 out of 3 of those trades on each pair would not have been taken, just based on CSS threshold alone. You can also see those nice buys and sells taken by FB on my MT this week.

Amazing to see the practical inverse mirror trades taken by FB on these correlated pairs, AUDCHF & EURAUD.

interesting analysis yamez. are you using both css filtering and basket trailing stop on the same demo. can you speak about results this week? thanks

Yes, please see my post http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 130#p99503 for my settings or PM. I've made almost 2% this week since starting on Wednesday, US session.

Now to consider the possibility of using CSS to close trades. Just throwing around ideas to get feedback.

Another one of AGTs trades ( red lines ), 2nd trade would have been filtered out by H4 CSS. 1st trade CSS was weakening but still valid. By the time we get to the black line at the close of the H4 bar on the CSS was showing a change of direction. Here we could close the trade rather than waiting for the closure at the 240 MA. Yes price could still go back into the trend however we hopefully ;) should be making stacked gains elsewhere to mop up smaller losses. Perhaps a minimum distance rule closure rule between open and close for ranging periods as well. I'm seeing this as a dynamic SL which pares off losers from the basket while a trailing TP makes gains.

I admit in times of news or major moves CSS is lagging so will not be as useful. I do have other examples of "bad" trades where CSS closure could of helped this week. I'm going to mark off more examples, even close individual trades next week in real time when possible, to see if my ramblings have any validity. :-)

Very good thinking and testing Yamez.

Would be very interesting to test the following (Not sure if this is possible with the EA functions right now) and of course not sure if this idea would add any value (if its not broke dont fix it!)

A) Trade direction only based on CSS 4H (so no Bob 240 MA trend direction)

B) 1 hr charts, with Steves precise fractals entries with the 4H CSS trend.

C) Close trades if CSS reverses.
C) was not possible until a few minutes ago - V 1f in post 1.

There is a new input in the CSS inputs section: CssReverseClosesTrade. If this is enabled and UseCSS is also enabled, the FB should close a trade following a recross in the opposite direction of the strengths of the two currencies in the pair. Sing out if this does not work properly, but I will test it out on Monday.

This update is for those of you using CSS. Don't bother with it if you are not.

Do I need some special indicator for CSS or is it built in in the newest Empty4 client?

Thanks,

I will test. I have other ideas for CSS, though H4 CSS without a filter like the 240 MA may be no use. Thanks PipCruiser.

So AGT does not feel "picked" on, I provide my own trades. Thanks for sharing AGT :-)

Losing trade on my 1st basket. Vertical lines mark H4 periods to satisfy the repainting crowds. :-) Would have been closed by CSS rather than basket ( red horizontal line ).

For those paying attention, I can provide examples where CSS does not "prevail".
