GT3RS wrote:Hi all,

I would really appreciate it if someone could code an indicator for a pattern I am working with.

It's called a swing failure pattern or SFP for short.

Basically, say we have a high on our charts.

A swing failure would be when price drops away from the first high and then comes back to re-test it. the retest BREAKS the previous high, but then closes BELOW the previous high.

Reverse for swing failure low.

There needs to be at least 10 candles between the original high/low and the SFP high/low.

I've attached a couple of charts to show what I mean. Ideally I would like arrows to pick these patterns out, so I can scan my charts better, and continue to develop what I'm working on.

It would be good if it could somehow be multi timeframe as well!

And of course, I'm happy to share the strategy when it comes to fruition!!

Although I'm sure that by just looking at the charts posted below, you will see why I am interested in these patterns!!!

Many thanks,

Rob
Interesting, GT3RS. Did you get this pattern from Trader Dante(on twitter)/the_wizard (from FF) ? If I recall, he was the 1st person that introduce this pattern and sharing it to public.

How shameless Rob, you couldn't even be bothered to think of your own name for the idea you are passing off and are too clueless learn to code yourself.

I look forward to seeing everyone fading your trades.

@ howmanypips. Yes, it is the pattern made public by Trader Dante/The Wizard.

@ surferking. If you look at what I've said, I am clearly NOT passing this off as my own idea. My first post talks about a pattern I am working "with." I have never claimed it was "my" pattern.

I have called it SFP, because that's what Tom called it. And as you know, Tom was taught it by someone else anyway.

Surferking, I smiled at your childish PM and your comment here on this thread. This pattern is NOT patented. It is NOT a secret. Tom doesn't own it. YOU don't own it. IT IS FREELY AVAILABLE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN IN TOM'S FAIL BETTER THREAD ON FF.

I'll look forward to the whole of the forex market trading against me as you say! Lol!! Hilarious!! I think you'll find that this pattern is created by the big players to cause the impression of a move in one direction to create liquidity for themselves so they can build their positions, before sending it off in the direction they want. So if you want to fade against the guys trading billions, be my guest!! Lol!!

I have the greatest of respect for Tom and what he is doing both with his trading and his live room. I would never say anything bad about the guy and categorically have not ripped off this pattern. Like I say, it is in the public domain.

What makes you think you are so special?

The purpose of this thread was to get an indicator so I can very quickly see SFPs [I work full time, so only get the occasional quick glance at the charts].

Then I can investigate for worthwhile trading opportunities.

Finally, I came on this forum primarily because Steve invited me, but also to get away from the childish antics on places like Forex Factory etc.

I really didn't want to post this reply, but I will protect my integrity if necessary.

So, you've had your say and now I've had mine. I won't be replying to anything else you say, as I don't want to get involved in that.
