The next step is to find a good, consistent trend trading EA that has a high win\loss ratio, and plug the scale-in module into it. .

Have you considered Daily Marylin?
Cheers!
Thanks for the link to the Zorro systems. The grid systems look good, but the scare the crap out of me... I prefer anti-grid (such a silly name for scaling-in, eh?). I'd probably combine the two, if I ever get my head around Zorrodudest » Mon Jan 13, 2014 7:13 am wrote:Hey Radar!
After reading your post, I've thought about it rather deeply, and I cant think of any trend trader with a high win rate :/ :/ Makes me wonder whether those two can be had together ( "trend trader" & "high win rate" ). Just to check this further, I checked Zorro's trend trader (Z1) , and it has a win rate of about 35%...
Lower timeframes definitely give you winners more often than higher timeframes, but the count of losers is disproportionally higher, due to spiking. Still, with good stops management, and scaling-in, we can alleviate that problem somewhat.I'm thinking then that for an EA trend trader to have a high win rate, it maybe needs to operate on a lower timeframe, e.g M15/M30 [ Z1 works on H4, Phil's MM works on D1 ]. Makes sense then why you tried to adapt MM to M15, that was clever. I guess 'hard-core' trend traders ( on H4, D1 ) by definition make money by high R:R, not win-rate.
I look at TCO, and my head hurts! The only other possible candidate I can think of is TCO Trader; I wonder whether cuzgeorge or AGT have tested it; unfortunately I haven't gotten to demo it yet [ 6 different methods to follow trend ].
I reckon it'll show me where to stop scaling-in, which is a pretty good idea, when I'm risking half of my profit with each scale-in@My EA: thanksI sure hope it does well. I'd be honoured if any of its code can be of use to you + StackMan !
As long as you can pick your stops, it does the job very nicelyStackMan's a super kul tool, thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of ways to harness it too ( in manual + automated trading).
