If a monkey can trade this then there is hope for me. How does this look in ranging markets?

Hi all, and thank you for the support!

I´m just fighting with Heiken Ashi candles, trying to find some tricks to spot easier the setups. Heiken Ashi is well known as a stress free way to trade, but I´m fearing you need some practice before that.

4H candles closed some minutes ago. I was monitoring USDCHF, seeking for a short. The body of the candle was torturing the daily pivot, trying to close below. At the moment of the close I zoomed to 30M and I saw a close below the pivot, but 4H was showing a close just on the line. The body of the 4H candle wasn´t breaching clearly the pivot. As all my backtests of this system are made on 4H closings, I let the trade pass, even knowing that price was in fact below the pivot.

Hi there! Thanks for the system Zen, I'm going to try it. Which pairs do you trade?

Hi, drg

I´m monitoring the majors, but sooner or later I´ll play all the 27 crss. Something I learned from Bob: you must find opportunities everywhere. No much sense focus on 3 or 4 pairs when you are playing a mechanical system where traditional chartism is most of the time ignored.

Art,

that´s good news. I only opened a trade until now. A CADJPY long (on the close) last night, as it was clearly fulfilling all the rules. Going quite well until now...

AudCad as a long seemed to satisfy the rules on the recent close of the H4 bar (crossing the DP on a positive HA bar). But it recent crossed back below the DP so I am out.

Same with EurUsd

Hi, cmeade2

AUDCAD body closed just on the line after my broker, not above.

EURUSD was a loss. :(

I´m just learning the system from zero, but I have the feeling that we must ignore candles closing on the pivot line or very few pips beyond (this action on the pivot could be a state of indecision, trend is not yet defined). Maybe we should take only those trades where the pivot has been clearly breached by the body of the candle.

What time does your H4 close? I am GMT +2. On the recent bar AudCad closed at 0.9644 for me while the DP was at 0.9632.

i'm trying to observe bobs rules, if you look at the css, aud and cad are both pointing the same direction, so there wont be much movement there, need to be looking for trades going opposite to one another

Well, I live in Spain. Here is GTM+1 usually, but until the end of the summer we are in GTM+2.

I´m comparing Alpari UK and Thinforex Australia and I have the same candles in both ot them. But this is a matter where I must confess a deep ignorance.
