I just wanted to list the order of the analysis template. I will be taking all my trades off of it. I am just going to give you the order on the 15 minute ribbon 1 5 min PaleGoldenRod fast edge Crimson slow edge shadow ribbon ribbon 2 15 min DarkSlateGrey standard white edge and crimson edge ribbon 3 30 min Navy standard white edge and crimson edge ribbon 4 60 min DarkGreen standard white edge and crimson edge ribbon 5 240 min Brown standard white edge and crimson edge ribbon 6 1440 min DarkGoldenRod + Yellow fast edge and crimson slow edge ribbon 7 10080 min Olive standard white edge and crimson edge These big averages 1440 and 10080 can be so big you will be inside them or so far away you would have to zoom in the chart and use the vertical control to see. They are there though. The other time periods follow this sequence but of course would not need all of these ribbons. Happy Trading |

Just wanted you to see how looking backwards at the prior time period can explain what is happening on the the present. This is the 60 minute. This is very powerful stuff to see. Now the four hour time period. Have you ever had this kind of clarity on what the nature of the forces at work are. This has always been what motivated me in system building. I want to trade visually off of the chart knowing why things are happening. I think I have achieved it with this system. Find all the points of support and resistance. This helps let you know about when we will see a break out on the 4 hour. These are the same chart patterns traders have seen for years but now you can observe how price is reacting to different time zones and getting squeezed till traders agree on a trend. Slowkey |

Just a demonstration of a pattern that repeats over and over. Very strong resistance area. Would be a great place for a short. Here there was not to much risk involved. You can feel brave when trading with the trend. |

I would like to thank everybody for all the down loads and views. Feel free to ask questions and participate. One thing I wanted to say about the system that you may recognize eventually is that you are trading inside a large weekly on the 4 hour and 1 hour and somehow not on the lower time period. That is because it is a bottom up system or as Rad originally called his system that inspired this approach a reverse system. Lets say you are on the 5 min. A Google earth analogy. You are zoomed in on a house. You zoom out more and you see a city. You zoom out more and see Bermuda. You zoom out more and see this spec on the ocean called Bermuda. So on the 5 minutes the ocean might be there but you would have to leave the city to see it. Does this introduce error. A small amount of error on the 4 hour is what I am noticing and when you compare that to the 1 hour you can spot it. So at the right edge of the screen you can see the 4 hour not making it to the top of the weekly and edge but you will not notice a turn yet. On the hourly it has reached it and is turning. Part of this is 4 candles to the 4 hour one candle but S/R should not be off. So I will have to study this more. It takes time to investigate this. This can be fix by adjusting the volumes some on the averages. This is a minor though. Edit ... What I did was added a new analysis template to post 1 that tweaks the one hour with the four hour so that there is better correlation to the four hour time period. Remember we are talking about the largest time period the weekly and often it will not even be close to price. This is more for Four hour traders only to use for comparison of the two time frames. No changes were made to the 15 minute or 30 minute. There is 168 hours in a trading week and 42 four hour periods in a trading week. This produces some big number averages. Now the hour below. |

I talked about the Dome like feature that repeats over and over as strong resistance for short entries. Here is its twin opposite the cup feature. It is a zone of strong support for long entries. Easy to see on the hour. On the 4 hour you can see it on the shadow ribbon. Again observe how the 4 hour candles have a way of mopping up the noise. Of course looking at the hour chart can help you recognize good entry points or explain what is happening. I am more of an intra-day trader and the shadow ribbon is a nice addition to the the intra-day time periods. The Cup is formed by the White fast edge crossing down over the Crimson and later crossing up over the Crimson. The Dome just the opposite. It is formed by the White Crossing up over the Crimson and later back down over the Crimson. So when you see the cross down in a uptrend and the cross up in a down trend you can expect to see a possible retrace into strong support or resistance. This is a good place to enter given support by volume and CSS. One note ... With CSS on these higher periods the color signal is less accurate. I calibrated to the lower time periods and just for entries. Some times the CSS will have a long neck and the color will not kick in. Do not get reliant on the Color. Get a feel for the strength of the pair. Sometimes like everything else going down a time period or two or up a time period will clarify what is happening. Here on the 4 hour you can see a good CSS pattern. This is an example of a long neck. Going down a time period and seeing the cup feature and a retrace with a white down climax exhaustion bar. You will see these white bars In retraces in a uptrend you will see Red volume bars in retraces in a downtrend. If you are trading with the trend all this info goes together to get you into the trend here on the retrace. Putting it all together for a trade. This applies to all time periods. One other thing I just noticed was time of the week. This was coming off of the weekend a few hours into the Asian session. Time of day. Time of week. Sort gives you a clue where AUD is possibly heading. 4 hour |

Forgot to mention this but there is a legend that can be turned on for the better volume indicator. A cheat sheet so you can keep them bars straight. It is the last setting to true. |

Potential trade on a retrace entry on the pair AUD/JPY. It has been on a 4 day uptrend so it may be running out of steam but will see if this is an illustration of that cup like feature. No trade after a few hours looks like an area of confluence forming. |

News and Volume. Self explanatory. Insiders know. Volume can tell the story. |

Great system, thanks for sharing. When I'm learning a new thing I sometimes like to simplify where possible. Better volume is my favourite new thing. I suggest turning off everything you're less interested in while learning. It's all of value but it could be too much to take in in one go. Here's an example with just climax up, down and minimums enabled: [mod=]Please upload your chart-images always here look here how to do http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/kb.php?a=2 Thanks! Cheers |

Thanks Jago25, I am glad you like the system. I know this is a very different way of looking at time and price. The better volume indicator in the package is nice because it adds to what Barry did by telling you whether volume is less than or greater than the previous two bars. So you get that nice ability to see volume buildup or decline. However there is a mod that just has the colors that may be helpful for those learning and I am uploading it here. This one has an average but I do not recommend using averages with volume. This is why I choose not to. Why would you want to use a lagging indicator with a leading indicator. I would turn it off or ignore it. Just my two cent |
