Bloody hell, but the Basket Instinct within me is kicking in big time. Those trades are now in positive by over 250 pips. It is taking all the strength in my makeup to leave them running.

Good fun though.

Holy Crap. Over 300 pips now. This is fun.

Newcomers, remember this. The markets went quiet last week for most of the week. They started to move again towards the end of the week. They have exploded tonight.

Trading the D1 will not often be this exciting. Mostly it will be as dull as watching grass grow - domestic grass that is, not some exotic species making a bid for world domination.

Having a blast right now though. I recon I have earned the occasional blast from time to time. :D

Yes, most of the time in the non blast mood, you are on the other side of that 300 pips. Enjoy it!

Haha, it's not always this fun and it as you would no doubt have seen by now the fun slowed right down. With that being said, my (manual trading) demo has been over 3000 pips floating profit on a number of occasions. :!!:

Not meaning to ask a stupid question, but do you have Auto Trading turned on and live trading checked on the EA?

Just comparing between the trades I took manually this morning to STF:

Manual trades taken:
AUDCHF Sell - new signal/main entry
AUDJPY Sell - new signal/main entry
AUDUSD Sell - re-entry signal
EURAUD Buy - new signal/main entry
EURNZD Buy - re-entry signal
EURUSD Sell - re-entry signal
GBPAUD Buy - re-entry signal
GBPNZD Buy - re-entry signal
GBPUSD Sell - re-entry signal
NZDJPY Sell - re-entry signal
NZDUSD Sell - re-entry signal
USDCAD Buy - re-entry signal
USDCHF Buy - re-entry signal

STF trades taken:
AUDUSD Sell - re-entry trade
EURNZD Buy - re-entry trade
EURUSD Sell - re-entry trade
GBPNZD Buy - re-entry trade
GBPUSD Sell - re-entry trade
NZDJPY Sell - re-entry trade
NZDUSD Sell - re-entry trade
USDCAD Buy - re-entry trade
USDCHF Buy - re-entry trade

STF didn't take any of the main entry trades this morning. Not sure why, as signals are all valid. Unfortunately as my demo closed at least twice today, it looks like the logs have re-set themselves so no answers in there and didn't get a chance to get a screenshot this morning to show the comments. It is a bit strange though as STF took main entry trades perfectly last week during development.

AUDCHF Sell - new signal/main entry
AUDJPY Sell - new signal/main entry
EURAUD Buy - new signal/main entry

I was thinking that you might want to add a check that the current open matches the above/below fast daily ma rule before opening a trade to avoid any big weekend gaps, with everything being based on close of the previous candle you could end up with Fridays close being 100% spot on and then it will only take a disaster, conflict, some muppet talking head, change in policy or a referendum, hell even a poll about a referendum which happened over here in the UK to make the market gap 100+ and Mondays open is then wrong side of the MA and could be the start of a new trend but the trade is still taken.

Code: Select all

if (iClose(Symbol(), TradingTimeFrame, 1) > FastD1MaVal)
add in a
if (iOpen(Symbol(), TradingTimeFrame, 0) > FastD1MaVal)
Only downside I can see is if the Monday candle opens with a massive spread you could miss out on an entry.
Just thinking out loud, feel free to shoot me down.

This is one of those trades that wouldn't have been taken because it opened below the 3ma so if it's good enough for Shelley it might be best to ignore my last post.

The entry criteria is that the trigger candle closes above the 3smma, which is what occurred here.
