NZD/USD USD is stronger but slowing down. NZD is playing dead in the center of CSS. So range trades with USD moves being stronger than NZD moves. Just read CSS and then go trade the arrows. NZD HAS MOVED UP ON THE NZD/USD CHART SO LOOK FOR SELLS AGAIN AS LONG AS USD IS HIGHER THAN NZD ON CSS CHART. |

Thanks Bob for this wonderful thread. Am sure am not the only one who had missed your posts here. I have been trading HGI with CSS on H4 successfully but you have opened my eyes. I want to be able to scalp the 5m charts too. Following with great interest. |

You got it. You understand CSS helps to predict where the move could possibly come and then you go look for it. HGI gives you the entrance point so you arent guessing or getting in too late or too early on the trade.

Thanks Patrick. I dont know what that one is based on but there are many similar type systems. Ours is based on using the slope angle of TMA or the Three moving average indicator. It makes a very smooth line and is easily compared and gives us smooth reads that dont jump around too much. Others use just a regular MA or CCI indicator. Alorente had one he liked better but I dont remember what it was based on. As far as I know I/Baluda were the first to use the comparison of 28 pairs and combine them on the screen. If someone else did that first I would be happy to acknowledge that but I didnt know it existed when CSS was formed. It just shows that people can come up with very similar ideas. The FF model uses FIB numbers which I am not a great fan of but enough people use FIBs to actually make it work market wise. So an interesting variation. Of all I have looked at CSS is the most accurate and predictive. It would not surprise me if someone borrowed the idea and would try to sell it. Its a great indi. I personally tell people to give to the charity Compassion International instead of me as a payment. Even though I get credit for a lot that goes on here almost all of it is borrowed from someone else I learned from. The programmers put it together and make the indi work like it does. I kind of am a compiler of ideas and then find something that works. Once together it becomes a creation that helps us trade. Without SteveHopwood, Milanese, Baluda, Elixe, and many others CSS and HGI just wouldnt exist. Many traders ask questions and these indis are the result of the questions and the answers we found. I would put the two indis side by side and compare how accurately they predict the market. Then you will know which one works better. CSS is very well developed and there are interesting insights gleaned over the years, like when the AUD goes up, the NZD will follow and the JPY will go down. Its not 100% true but good enough to follow to make some money. So right now AUD is going up and JPY is going down so in a couple of days I would expect the NZD to follow the AUD up if the market continues the pattern. So compare the two and see how it works for you. I think you will like CSS. |

CSS is also color coded so you can see how regional currencies compare with each other. Asian currencies are gold/tan colored, EURO currencies are blue colored and North American currencies are red based. This helps you see how regional currencies interact with each other. I mentioned the Asian currencies already but the EUR and CHF are kissing cousins and the USD and CAD tend to go in opposite directions. USD up, then CAD goes down, etc. Knowing these patterns helps in deciding where to look for a trade during the week. GBP kind of does its own thing. Way to go Brits. |

Bob, Simply brilliant explanation. Can I take it that your knowledge and practical experience is encapsualted in the OOTB settings? i.e. that the ootb 24 pairs is superior to all 28 pairs due to low volume/correlation/weighting issues? |
