Its on the screenie MA(6) Anyway just a word of caution - do NOT use this with USD/YEN - it is the worst currency pair by fair to use any oscillator on - simply due to its high intervention levels and other stuff.. - Cool Steve Let me give it a try - might put it on live today |

Hmm - LocusFund you might need to DL the new version Steve attached, and use 1,1,2,4 Recovery instead of the 1,3,6 in the set . Also... But still, I can't seem to get it to obey the hard SL set in parameters during my BT. Is this a bug? Steve, is it possible to achieve the following grid-like recovery pattern with the current EA coding by tweaking the settings? - Lets say I set a cash target per each trade cycle at $20 (using 0.1 lots = 20 pips) with a recovery mode 1,2,2 (with 20 pip gap between recovery trades) Hard SL to be set at 80 pips from Trade 1 (all recovery trades will also be closed at this point - so assuming 0.1, 0.2 and 0.2 lots, maximum loss should be $280 per failed trade cycle) Example: Suppose a signal was given to Buy USD/CAD at 1.0000. EA opens up BUY at 1.0000 with 0.1 lots (TP: 1.0020, SL: 0.9920) Market tanks to 0.9980. EA opens up BUY2 at 0.9980 with 0.2 lots (TP: 1.0000, SL:0.9920) Market tanks to 0.9960. EA opens up BUY3 at 0.9960 with 0.2 lots (TP: 0.9980, SL:0.9920) Market recovers back to 0.9980. BUY3 closes at $20 profit and we go back to Level 2 in trade cycle. Market recovers back to 0.9990. BUY 2 closes at $10 profit, BUY1 closes at -$10 loss. Total profit $20. Trade cycle is closed. - EDIT added screen of earlier trade - just to give a feel for how the system works |

You cannot have both a stop loss and use Recovery. The two are mutually incompatible, so choosing Recovery means the stop loss is not placed. I will think about it, but this has gone in the space of about 48 hours from a simple scalper that does not need Recovery, to a much more complex thingy with ludicrously complicated Recovery. You should be aware that coders hate this kind of mission-creep. Apart from anything else, it opens up the opportunity for LUC to invite his pals around for the bender of the decade, a level of chaos that can take hours to sort out. So, is this a serious strategy (Recovery, I mean) or are you merely thrashing around in the dark? |

Wow that difficult to get that trade cycle thing in? :S - IMO - it is a nice capped recovery cycle which i always use, and a hard SL embedded within is good risk management in case of any market madness If you could make a module like that - I am sure it would be a great addition to any other EAs |

You are the victim of your own success and reputation. Therefore, we think anything we can do as human beings can be done by an EA. All we have to do ask STEVE to make it happen and it happens. Speaking from my own experience of your EAs for the past 4 years. What I thought to be extremely complex and impossible to code was relatively easy for you to code and what I thought would be a walk in the park turns out to be very complex task. In reality I am just demonstrating total lack of knowledge of programing. For example at present I am very keen on knowing when an EA has entered a trade. The most obvious method is an email (rather than alert). Because, emails are sent to our mobiles and we know straight away. I thought this would be very easy but this is not the case. Kind regards |

Hi Steve, In case you wish to add an email alert on trade enter/exit to your EAs, you may find the following code segment helpful: Code: Select all - Sends an email for an opened trade - Sends an email for a closed trade, also reporting order profit/loss, run-up and drawdown while the trade was active. I have also attached the file this function is in - most other functions called from SendEmail are defined in this file. Kind Regards, Mahmut |
