Hey xfactornos,

Been busy with testing other stuff and so could only take one live trade yesterday on GBPJPY as per the rules I posted here. This one went straight into profit and cap'd it for around 50 pips during the next hour. Stay tuned though, as potential good stuff is on the way

As you can see, a few hours before the trade I took there was another opportunity. I wasn't around at the time to take it, but this how I'd have gone about it.

When CSS(JPY) - CSS(GBP) > 0.07, the background went from yellow to red and I'd get in as quickly as possible with a SELL. Then the CSS went again into yellow as CSS(JPY) - CSS(GBP) went again under 0.07. At this point I'd become wary and alert but wouldn't yet close the trade out since we just entered into a relatively young trade an hour or 2 ago and we don't want to exit prematurely. To cut the SELL trade I'd wait and look for either:
  • Conservative approach: Both CSS lines crossing again (i.e. CSS(GPB) - CSS(JPY) > 0)
  • A bit more daring approach: Observe a green background (i.e. CSS(GBP) - CSS(JPY) > 0.07)
Thus the second approach - by sticking with the trade - certainly had good potential to work out just fine. I say potential because even though IgnoreFuture = true, it may very well be that at the top of that retracement at that point in time the CSS background indeed went green for a short amount of time. This would've dictated you to exit and incur a loss. We can't know this for sure just by looking at the chart this way.

My observations so far tell me that adopting the "aggressive" approach over the conservative approach is much more desirable during the early stages of a trade's life - as this will prevent you from bailing out on retracements. The longer the trade lives the more conservative one should get.

Hi,

I just thought you may be interested to re-visit some nice EA's covered by dust and created by Steve and Paul, when CSS/Slope was high topic. I think they are worth fine tuning and may be combined with HGBnG or DB or any other bot. I do not trade them yet, but use modified "CSS in direction (div/convergance) as filter on HGBnG.
I am looking at them for a few weeks to make a trigger signal, but as I am not a coder it takes time. If more of us see value to fine tune them, then we may be able to convince members of SHF to update them to current platform requiraments.

Cheers,
Krzysztof

Hi!
You might want to check out my new Dashboard EA that probably can do the same thing as what you are after.
