Hi Steve,

Stumbled on this via MPTM and very excited about getting to grips with it all properly. One dummy question, does it make any difference from a technical or system point of view if I am spreadbetting rather than trading mini/micro/milli/pico lots?

Another quick question (my last one was so stupid no one answered). With regards to the issues with the Weekly Open indicators and varying timezones, what is the state of play on this now? I understand this isn't a priority, and there was talk about Friday close bars vs Sunday/Monday open bars, and something about each trader having to find their own solution. What would that entail? Should I be digging into the indi code (I'm not an Empty4 coder, but I code otherwise), looking at different brokers etc..? I've looked at GKFX and Alpari UK (who I think are the only Empty4 spreadbetting crims), and neither of them produce WO histograms that look anything like each others or those people are posting on the main thread on FF.

I'm not criticising in any way shape or form, just trying to understand what I could be doing to sort this out for myself.

It is not that your questions was stupid. More likely, nobody know the answer. You might get more answers if you ask in Bob's thread at FF. Here, most of us are new to all this.

Bob has developed 10.2 using Cowboy IBFX in America. It could be that the rest of us who are enjoying such success are doing so because our own crim has the same or very similar open/close times to Cowboy IBFX. I trade Cowboy IBFX Aussie, for example.

Bob's indi coders are looking into this. Mind, I am not sure people will enjoy the results of their investigations, but that is life.

Hi Feucht,
i think the answer you're looking for is no.
The only point you need to look out for is the gaps you allow for the EA to breathe. For example, the spread on eurjpy and eurusd are different, but a pip is a pip, so if you don't allow enough pips between SL's and TP's , or your TP is too close etc etc etc, you'll be getting trade errors from Empty4 and the crooks will be scoring from you.

Then if you're trading with a metal in the picture, take silver and gold for example, two very different scenarios, where silver can absolutey break your account if you get this one wrong. MPTM can handle anything, just be carefull what you put on the charts of the platform you are using.

In this case, MPTM is being used for NANN 10.2. I would'nt use the same settings here as i would for another platform that i'm might be trading silver or gold or platinum. Different set file there. There was also a question about using MPTM on stocks, same applies where you have to test on demo until you see the actual results and then go back and change again, until optimum. Its best to leave NANN 10.2 on it's own Empty4 platform and if you want to run another EA or manually trade , set up a second platform and do that on it's own.

hope i'm not off the ball-park and also still getting used to MPTM myself, but it's a definate 'musthave' or at least must know how to use for any serious traders' armoury against the crims.

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at Cowboy IBFX before but they and Vantage do not offer spreadbetting (on Empty4 at least). Perhaps I should be asking if the tax advantages of spreadbetting are outweighed by the limitations of the crims that offer it, but I think that could be a little off-topic :D Alternatively I could use Cowboy IBFX to find entries and use a spreadbetter to place the trades, as I don't think there is anything in the trading EAs as they stand that would take notice of the WO indis...

From my experience with the trading EAs, lot size seems to be interpreted correctly (or as I would wish at least) as pounds per pip when used on a spreadbetting account, I will take into account your points cuzgeorge though.

Hi,

I have a basic dummy q on the EA (I have read all the threads/docs but still unsure). Should I add the 10.2 trading EA to both the DAILY and the H4 for each currency pair? (i.e. have around 44 charts open in Empty4). OR just add it to each DAILY and will it always trade the daily and whatever I enter in the 'lower timeframe' variable?

My criminal has started offering USD RUBLE pairs. Anyone here has had any experience with the Russian Ruble?

Normally do not go for the exotics but with the 9th biggest economy in the world, huge population, largest gas and oil reserves, IMHO they are going to be as big as French franc used to be. I think once the chinese yuan is floated they are going to be huge as well. Or am I talking nonsense as usual!!!
