Steve, Pardon me bothering you with my silly questions but I first tried to go over the code to find something familiar - no success. In the Jem's PM there was some protection described in case once the basket is triggered to shut down ( at loss) any trade that closes on the wrong side of the pivot. i.e - in a buy if it closes below the daily pivot shut the position at a loss - in a sell if it closes above the daily pivot shut the positon at a loss. So, my question is whether this part is present in the auto-trader code. Thank you. |

I'm in too! will be testing and reporting. ......btw been reading the T101 threads on FF over the weekend (well actually only about 100 pages of it !!) and came out with two conclusions: 1. I am starting to have a broader view on basket trading which may help my thinking with basket trading in general including this one,  2. I now know how promising threads die......and it is pretty awful  |

Yep, and I cannot promise that such thingies will not hapen here forever. At the mo, we have just over 3,000 members so things are easy to control. I do not know how easy it will be to control thingies when there are 30,000 members. What I can say is that I and my fellow mods are determined to keep threads as informative, friendly and usable as possible for as long as possible. In addition, when a thread becomes unwieldy, we will help the OP to migrate to a new thread as painlessly and positively as possible. If this forum follows the FF model then it will eventually be superseeded by a younger forum that in its turn will mock what this one has become. All I can say is this; I will try to prevent it happening. |

Great to see you trying to fight your way through my code. Because I am a pianist and not a pro coder, my code will often lack coherence. Go to void CountOpenTrades() I use this function for a lot of different thingies under a lot of different circumstances. Scroll down to where you find: //Check for a close on the wrong side of the daily pivot and you will see the code that deals with this. |

About 18 pages right now....  I think it is mainly in the trade parameters, this method is easy to chart, easy to understand, and just makes so much sense - now if only the market will agree for a few months  Definitively going on my VPS right now (demo of course), thanks Bob, Steve, Jemook, Shelly |

The old one used 5.1 ma to trigger and the TMA outer bands to show a retracement. This one uses a close below daily pivot for a retracement and then a close above to trigger. Baskets are great and all but I prefer to do them manually. I'm having such success with my system that I wont be trading this EA as a basket trader. I will be trading it as single pairs and here's how you do this: Put the EA on a chart and Set PairsToTrade blank and the EA will insert the chart symbol and the ea becomes a single pair trader. The only change I'd make to the EA is an OPTION to: (for a buy) Only enter trades when the daily pivot is above the weekly pivot which is above the monthly pivot (for a sell) Only enter trades when the daily pivot is below the weekly pivot which is below the monthly pivot Looking forward to Monday! |

@ Steve, Only thing I need in this EA is an EMAIL option. I would like to run it on my VPS, and when it takes a trade, send me an email. Then I can confirm the trade parameters for possible real trade or at least add to the watch list for basket trade when I have enough qualifiers. Thanks, and I will be right on to that Paypal option of yours if you can do this  John |
