Appreciate your hard work Steve.Thanks a lot guys.
While Testing this EA found couple of issues steve.
First ,

Code: Select all

extern int PivotCrossPips;//The no of pips the other side of the chosen sl pivot
I think it should be initialized with some user defined pip value i guess.
may be it could be

Code: Select all

extern int PivotCrossPips=5;//The no of pips the other side of the chosen sl pivot
Next
Once the open order is closed for a profit or loss,
bool TooClose() function always returns true.
So no trading until we change the magic number after the first trade.
So please look into the code as i am just a copy paste and edit programmer.

By the way its really a promising Ea as it already started grabbing pips.

Thanks

Arun
Thanks Arun. I am always forgetting to initialise variables properly.

The code in bool TooClose() is faulty - I have forgotten to code a check that the trade being examined is actually the latest in the History. Even when I correct this, I am not sure it will be correct.

Pop

return(true);

at the start of bool TooClose() to turn it off for now and I will try to sort it out tomorrow.

For the non-coders, V1b is in post 1 and has the fix. I see nobody has downloaded 1a yet, so forget about 1a.

One more Code error steve

Code: Select all

 if (EnforceTripleAlignment)
   {
         if (TradeDirection  == buy && DailyPivot < WeeklyPivot)  TradeDirection = directionmixed;
         if (TradeDirection  == sell && DailyPivot > WeeklyPivot)  TradeDirection = directionmixed;
    }//if (EnforceTripleAlignment)
should be

Code: Select all

 if (EnforceTripleAlignment)
   {
         if (TradeDirection  == directionlong && DailyPivot < WeeklyPivot)  TradeDirection = directionmixed;
         if (TradeDirection  == directionshort && DailyPivot > WeeklyPivot)  TradeDirection = directionmixed;
    }//if (EnforceTripleAlignment)

Thanks

Nice one again, Arun. Thanks.

The effect of this bloop is to disable EnforceTripleAlignment. V 1c in post 1 fixes this. Coders merely need to make the change in void GetTradeDirection()

Hi Steve,

Looks like version 1c won't trade.

Code: Select all

bool TooClose()
{
   //Returns false if the previously closed trade and the proposed new trade are sufficiently far apart, else return true. Called from IsTradeAllowed().

   return(true);

   SafetyViolation = false;//For chart feedback

   if (OrdersHistoryTotal() == 0) return(false);
TooClose returns with true immediately on entry.

Kind Regards,

Alex

Oops. That is a cracker, even by my execrable standards.

V 1d is in post 1 with a fix that allows the bot to trade. Coders, turn the first line of code to return(false);

Thanks Alex

Wow! I am a voracious reader and also not young and I have never read or heard "execrable" before. Looked it up. Perfectly used in your response. Now added to my Lexicon.

Thanks Steve.

Steve, hope you are well, I have followed you for sometime and you have helped me with my own simple attemts as designing my own ea's. Anyway i tried to release the slope settings as part of your bobs bot ea. Seemed easy enough yet when i complied it i got a load of errors about variable not being set. Tried to add them to the global variables but that didnt help also (it eliminated some) but got other errors. Can you post a version with this as working.

Sorry my efforts did not work. As always i admire your persuit of NB systems (the only systems i have had consitant results from) and your other ea's cant say enough really

Keep fighting

Hi Steve, Bob,
i doing well with this EA. 13 positions so far , 12 winners and 1 loss.

Bad news is my 4 open positions are now going through more DD than my closed winners.
Good news is we all had a crap week and i think Bobs's Bot has been resilient and carefull enough with the positions taken to survive.
Happy to sit with these settings for a while longer.
regards and good luck.

EDIT-- 2nd demo added for tinkering to allow first demo to run OOTB for as long as needed.

Post subject:  Re: Bob's Bot: 10.2A auto-trader.

Hello again,
i have been asked for a set file for Bob's bot.
i am including 2 pics, one with the open positions causing the DD at the moment and one pic with the closed winners so far.

The set file included is for gbpusd, as this one closed two positions at TP. This is my adaptation of what i want to TEST for gbpusd. Mostly OOTB, but play around with the settings as you feel it best in relation to a chosen pairs volaitility and the criminals spread.

have fun and hope you get lotsa pips for the week.
