I am having a problem with the jumping stop function with the MPTM and Milanese All Trade Manager. When a trade is at the proper location, I receive a notification "jumping stop function failed. I'd be grateful for any help. Kerigan |

make sure that you have trading allowed for the EA, and that you see the "smiling face" Cheers Tommaso |

Thanks Tommaso, I have trading allowed for the EA, and cont. to have same problem. I'm new to the editing of aspect of any EA, so I apologize if I'm being "dim". The manger at top left of screen of the MPTM has every function disabled. I have an open trade, auto trading on, and "smiling face. I don't want to modify something I know nothing about. // With the MPTM 25+10 I was able to enable the jumping stop with and it is set to 100? I'm not sure I enabled the right thing. MetaEditor line 591 is where I set "enabled. Break even is set to 250, breakeven stop is set to 100, trailing stop "disabled, instant trailing stop "disabled, Global order "disabled, Hedge trade "not enabled, and shirt protection "not enabled. Again I apologize if I'm missing something obvious. Kerigan |

Hi Global, Thanks for your great work on this wonderful EA and obviously thanks to all the other contributors! Yours was the only TM that I managed to get to function well on the basic level. I've got one small problem regarding part closure of my position where a part of the positon isn't closed on each SLJ. Having read Steve's instruction manual I saw this part: part-close settings---- ● PartCloseEnabled: set this to 'true' to enable the routine. ● Close_Lots: this is the amount of the trade you wish to close at each jump. ● Preserve_Lots: this is the amount you want to leave 'on the table'. The ea will only close down the amount of the trade you specify in Close_Lots if there is more than this setting left to close. If you look at my screen shot with the input box you'll see that the Preseve_Lots tab isn't there. I've simply entered Close_lots of 0.01 on a 0.03 lot order for each SLJ of 10 pips, just to test obviously. I have the BE setting on and BreakEvenPips at 10. If you could offer some help I'd really appreciate it! Oli |

Hi Oli, Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you but for some strange reason I'm not getting notified of recent post to this thread. I'll have to check on my setting and correct that. You are welcome. You can't preset what you want the Preserve_Lots amount to be since it is a variable that is calculated within the code as follows: Code: Select all Code: Select all If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. By the way, since I shared my MPTM_Global modification I've added some more features to it but I'm still getting lots of warning messages from the new Empty4 compiler and the new features are not yet functioning as they should. As soon as I find the bugs I'll post it up for everyone's use, otherwise, I'll post it up anyway hoping that some of the great coders here may be able to fix it. I'm happy that my MPTM_Global modification has been useful for you. |

Hi Global, No worries about the delay. Appreciate the detailed response and it all makes sense now. Really love this EA, it makes me money in my sleep as I'm based in Australia trading the FX cash market. Wouldn't be anywhere near as profitable without it! Thanks again! Look forward to the updates, however I feel it has more than enough settings to suffice, well for me anyway. Last quick one, probably a little obvious; does my computer have to be on and my platform running for the EA to do its business? I haven't wanted to test that myself in case I got stopped out annoyingly! Cheers Oli |

I too dont use partial closure, its too annoying. Its better to use TSL/JS to manage profits have fun with the tool, it can be hair tearing. Eg I didnt know that I hv to set BE to use TSL. TSL is from BE point. I thought it works like Empty4, u set TSL of eg 15pips, once profits =>15pips, Empty4 moves your SL to BE, then it moves along. But Empty4 TSL can be |

I'm finally trying to get my head round the ATR settings after a bit of learning on how ATR can really lessen the amount of times you get stopped out. I've got a couple of questions regarding the ATR settings and also "Trailing Jumping Stop Loss % ATR feature". Right for an example, I've been using jumping stops after BE of 30pips and have got annoyingly stopped out during high volatility periods. I'm in Australia and trade the H1 bars over night during London and NY opening and thus prone to strong opening moves. As a swing trade I'll hold onto my trades on average for a couple of days looking for 3:1 r/r for any set ups. My trade management set up is as follows: SL - 60 pips BE move: 60 pips 3:1 - TP target - 180 pips (although I'll never set a TP level preferring to jump stop to that level) 30 - Jumping stop pips As I'm trading the H1 bars and on average hold for a couple of days my ATR period settings as follows: Period - 24(bars) x2 = 48 hours Timeframe - 60 (minutes) (To be clear here, do I only need to add this to the "Add missing stop loss" section of the dialog box?) If I only had these settings on can someone kindly explain how the JSL would integrate with the ATR settings in this example? Lastly I'd love to hear a more in depth explanation of how the Jumping Stop Loss % ATR Feature works, perhaps with a little example so my puny frazzled brain can get some sort of grasp of this!! Big thanks to anyone who can offer some wise words! Oli |
