I actually manually trade this pattern as a bounce off a trend line, support or resistance. I find it a very reliable set up.

I like the bounce off a 100 EMA using the 200 (I note you like the 240) as a direction indicator on 5 min charts as a scalp.

Also - love this around Pivot Points.

Trading this way gives me some great results

I came here to delete my response - as it was uncalled for.

Jemook sorted me out in the interim

I would like to explain my post though, for those that assumed something from it.

I do use long term moving averages as Support and Resistance levels - as I do Daily Pivots - thats about all I use them for.

Here are two trades I took this morning using the engulfing pattern (pretty much what this EA trades) as short term 'scalps" on a 5 min chart.

BTW - I am happy to explain any post I make - I may be new to this forum - however not new to trading.

Hi John ! Looking into your MFXB link it seems to me you use your "old" DBM acc ? The curves remember me at least your DBM trading ... ? Did you left the DBM now for a while like others did here .... waiting a new DBM version ?

Yes, DBM is on the shelf for the time being... in that MFXB link, I am now trading RRTnP on that account with some very conservative (strict) settings... John AGT wrote:Hi John ! Has anybody found good eu or gu settings ? Maybe eu/gu are just not the best pairs for this bot but I can't find acceptable settings to run it. Thx for any help/thoughts.

Although i'm finding that some of the trades occur reverse on live ( buy when backtest was a sell) due to the limitations of the MQL backtest. I'm trading the following on H1 with GBPJPY on my live account since last week. I have very tight breakeven settings because me and gbpjpy have a long history of fighting. Took 2 trades so far, both fell and hit the SL for a $16.33 profit.

I am testing one version I edited to wait an extra bar for confirmation of pin or RR before entering trade. Its the whole argument of getting in early, or waiting to confirm entry so I'm anxious to see how it goes.
