Many Thanks for sharing the spider modified versions. I sorry for not including the EA on my previous screen shot. I'm using the original Simple Spider EA and VQ7 files at pg 1. It does trade with default 0 setting for all timeframe but not the one I've mention. I'm excited to run the modified version today. I've gave up buying commercial EA. The AUDUSD H1 TF VQH4 did trigger one Sell trade yesterday. (Trade trigger after Sell arrow without signal price printed on screen) As for USDCAD it fail to trigger after VQH4 confirm buy arrow. I've also tested it on M15 TF but the Buy Sell triggering is incorrect. Anyway to run EA on M15 TF? Many Thank and good luck in your trading! |

I do not know what happened to your M5 chart on your screenshot. It would appear to me that your are chopping and changing the TF on your charts instead of leaving a setting for sometime, say a week at least, to see if it works. Your original idea of using H4 VQ7 settings seems like a sensible one even though the ea was supposed to work well on M30 TF (see post 1). But if you do change from one TF to another, it would help to reload the ea onto the new TF chart and load the set file for that TF. Chopping and changing TF without loading a fresh ea on the chart can quite often cause problems. I can see no reason why you cannot use M15 H4 VQ7 settings for M5 charts. Afterall, the ea has been coded so that the VQ7 settings can be set to whatever TF, VQ length, etc. |

One buy trade on USDCAD today, closed +30 pips. Missed entries on GBPAUD, GBPCAD, EURGBP, EURCAD and CADJPY. What a pity because they were all winners. Will be checking the experts log file later today to see if there is any explanation for the missed trades. Francis, your quirky way of trading H1 TF using VQ7(H4) seems to be producing positive results. I thought the trade will trigger at the close of a 4 hr candle, obviously not. |

Same over here. That's the reason why I wanted an EA for this strategy. Once you enter a timeframe for the VQ input the alarm and print signal will not alert you. So the only way is to stare at monitor for manual trade until I fall asleep. Hope you can figure out why Spider EA did not take trade base on VQ timeframe input? Cheers! |

Thanks for sharing this insight. I also thought VQ7H4 will trigger at close of a 4hr candle. As to why the other trade signals didn't alert, could it be that all your EAs are all marked "325" on different currency pair charts in one Empty4 platform? |

You mean the same magic number 325, that should not cause the trades not to trigger. I have looked at the experts log file for yesterday but found that even though the arrows were marked on the indicator window, the VQ triggers did not register in the log file. Maybe the copy of Simple Spider is corrupt. So, I have loaded another copy of the ea, the Spider 2VQ with the H4 TF VQ7 hard coded into the ea like before but with the same settings as before i.e. only using one VQ indicator and other filters set to false. This morning, one long on GBPJPY H1 was opened, at the same time another long on EURJPY H1 failed to open due to error 146 "trade context busy". This is better as trade context busy does often cause trades fail to trigger. Will monitor the situation for a little while. If this copy is working correctly, I will upload it here. I read from a previous post that ranging markets kill this ea, so do not use in a ranging market ! Right now many pairs are trending e.g. the Aussie and the Kiwi. Looking back over the past one month, this ea would have done rather well. Use NB 10.2 to read the market condition and then choose the appropriate ea to use. EA's cannot think. So, we have to do the thinking bit. Another thing is that it would be helpful later to use the 50 MA filter. Trading with the trend definitely increases the probability of success. Let the trend be your friend ! |
