Yes, could you check with Oanda and see exactly what their US clients experience? I assume they conform to the 50:1 and no-hedging rules. Do they allow hedging (handling it in the back office so there's no regulatory violation) the way PFG did, or do they totally disallow it the way Cowboy IBFX does? Can you confirm the $1M insurance? Are you satisfied with Oanda? That's one of the likely landing spots I'm considering... |

I checked and all US accounts with Oanda are reguilated by CFTC and NFA, not the IIROC of Canada, so no 1M insurance. Yeah it is 50:1 and no hedging there. Still with the right EA they are good. I think ATC is about your only choice for hedging/netting beyond FXDD. So CitiFxPro is the only broker that offers FDIC insurance that I know of. If Dodd-Frank is ever repealed or if I choose to live overseas I'll definitely look into Canadian brokers, the 1M insurance is great. I think once you build up 50k, CitiFxPro should be a very liquid Empty4 broker. |

Bummer. This CFTC/NFA """protection""" is costing us a bundle. So CitiFX Pro is available for $10k accounts, but no deposit insurance until you hit $50k. Empty4 connection uses the Boston Technologies bridge. Does anybody have experience with Citi and the BT bridge? |

I'm looking at the differences between the large brokers (Internaxx, Interactive Brokers etc) and trying to ascertain the main differences between these guys and the UK spread betting companies? I guess SB are tax free whereas the international brokers would be using Futures contracts so tax would be payable etc? Currently I use ETX and IG Index but some guys I know in the US reckon all SB companies are criminals as they don't really put your orders into the market and have their own manipulated feeds. What are others using for non-EA trading? Have you had any success or do you find when you become successful some SB companies start to hike up your min bet set etc? |

I am looking for good ECN brokers supporting Empty4, acepting 0.01 lot (1000 units) on ECN account, and with a minimum deposit <=1000. I couldn't find many ECN brokers that provide all their clients with the same ECN feed, for the ECN account most of them require either a minimum lot of 0.1 (10 000 units) or a minimum deposit much higher than 1000, or else you get a regular market maker micro account and a rubish price feed. I dropped US based crims, obviously, and also those based in weird exotic countries, or just unregulated, and I came up with this very short list that seem to match requirements, more or less: I would appreciate some feedback from people using, or having used, any of these: Dukascopy Bank SA: This is the one I like the most, but the downside is they don't support Empty4 directly, need a third party bridge. There is an opensource (and free) bridge that works great, but you still need to get dukascopy feed into Empty4, and this seems to be only available through the other third party propietary bridge, which charges an extra fee of 1 euro per traded lot. Currently I am using their demo just for the Empty4 feed, and sending the trades to dukascopy jforex using the opensource bridge. It works, but demos expire in 14 days. Bully Pepperstone: This one is looking good, but I've read good and bad comments, and they are pretty new in the bussines. DF Markets: The ECN account is not Empty4. FXCENTRAL: They support ECN on Empty4, but never heard anything about them. Those are my selection. Any feedback on these? Thank you |
