Hi, would you be able to post your set file ?

Thanks

The settings are OOTB, buy/sell above/below 100 SMA.

Put 100 SMA on your H4 charts. Make three templates for buy, sell and stop trading.

If price is above 100 SMA, buy. If price is below 100 SMA, sell. If price is moving sideways with SMA flat, then stop trading. If and when the new update to Swingone is available, then you will be able to automate this by setting the AllAverage filter to 100 SMA.

The principle is very similar to a thread on FF by Hugh Briss using Stochs and Heiken Ashi candles. Trade only in the direction of the 100 SMA. His thread has a five star rating on FF and has quite a following.

The List of Trades until Friday 10 February 2012 is attached. P/L is in 1/10 pips; USDJPY 1/100 pips. Aussie did best, Loonie the worst. :D

Going forward the next step are to:
• test on :twisted: Empty4;
• put in a directional filter.

Hanover is good, and Peter is to be congratulated on very effectively using it, and I am grateful for him assisting me in its use. But the consensus seems to be to look for something less resource hungry.

Next update end of the trading week.

Khalid

That is many hours of hard work you are putting in, Khalid.

Keep up the good work !

Peter
Peter,

MultiCharts is easy. :D

Not been able to make the new strategy variation functional on  Empty4.

Therefore, continuing on MultiCharts. 8-)

Khalid

You are doing great, Khalid.

In spite of the sideways market the past few days, the FXDD account is still up 8.9% and the new Alpari account up 5.9%.

If you read my previous post carefully, you would have noted that I mentioned that I had to perform the trades manually.

With any luck, the new update will have the AllAverages option built in. In the meantime, when I have time, I will try DIY cut and paste the trend detection module code from one of Steve's EA and see if that works.

My laptop cannot cope anymore with Hanover with the FXDD account and I have now removed it as a trend filter. The account balance is still up 7.8%.

I have cut and paste the trend detection module code from Graeme ea to Swingone. It compiled alright and we shall see if it sends any trades.

I have set the AllAverage trend filter using 100 SMA.

Meanwhile, the Alpai demo using manual buy/sell using 100 SMA as a guide is up 7.1%.

Yes, Peter, I have also found there is absolutely no need for Hanover. 8-)

Hi Khalid, you know I tried to hang on to Hanover for as long as I could but the laptop screen kept freezing and I had no option but to stop using it.

The cut and paste trend detection module code unfortunately is not working. The EA was taking trades against the trend indicated by 100 SMA, so I have suspended trading for the time being. Hopefully, when the new update is ready, will restart again.

Cheers,
Peter

The balance on the Alpari demo trading 0.2 lots on $10,000 account, 1:100 leverage on nine pairs is now up 8.6%.

Trading on the FXDD demo is suspended at the moment, and the account balance is still up 7.8%.

We need to fix the problem of the EA not setting the stop loss. Other than that, there are no other major problems.

The issue of the trend filter can be overcome by manually setting the ea to trade long or short with reference to the 100 sma. As it is trading on H4 TF, you only need to check the charts occasionally to set the direction of the trade.

Hi Mahmut,

Please include Rsi and Allaverages filter in the next version.

Even without Hanover, the ea is still doing really well. The Alpari demo is only running for one week and has already gained 8% using only 100 SMA for direction. With the Rsi filter, I expect it to be doing even better. For instance, when the Rsi is ranging, this will stop the ea from trading in a sideways market when most ma cross strategy tend to suffer.

No pressure, only when you have time to improve the code.

Kind regards
Peter
