Like most of the traders over here I am using Empty4 build 670.
And set it to disallow updates.
When running my demo's I have no problem with the freezing of the EA what so ever.

On a fresh machine..
I installed Empty4 and did'nt downgrade.
And the EA stopped updating.. :shock:
Seems like Build 765 is still crap, it's mocking up the reading of the DLL. :uff:

Only less than a handfull of people over the 80+ downloads of this EA have the freezing problem.
Asking them which build the are running, its a 700+. :arrrg:

So If you want to stick to the unstable jerrybuild 700, be my guest. :twisted:

For those who want to trade this EA stable.

Hello Boinvest,

Thanks for the info about this forum. Here is my situation:
Empty4 build 765, FXCM, US acct.

I have been using HGB from Steve v2h with HGI 15.06. I doubled my acct in two months. Some manual recoveries, and some HGB auto trades for about 10 days.
Along the way, I began to troubleshoot the error codes I was seeing.
To solve them, I have done the following:

a. re-coded HGB using <strict> format. THAT was a lot of work! version 2h
b. fixed for errors in the the following functions: CloseAllTrades(), CloseOrder(), HaveWeHitProfitTarget(), LookForTradeClosure(), ModifyOrder(), PartCloseOrder(), ReportError(), SendSingleTrade().
b. installed TradeContext.mqh to capture the trading context, and minimize overwhelming the trade context. This has helped reduce 141 errors to a minimum.
c. modified HGBB to allow for daily or weekly targets for the combined profits of all pairs.
d. modified OnInit() to set up for daily / weekly profit targets
e. modified OnTick() to not overload the EA with frequent ticks from my ECN broker. It waits until every 10th tick before executing the code. I leave the HGB code set to "check every tick", but the pgm only executes every 10th incoming tick.

If you are interested, I will be glad to post those codes here, for your perusal. At this point in time, I don't expect to use the lib format of the indicator. I will do some research to find out what is the benefit vs. indicator. If you recommend a place to start reading, I will begin there.

Well, at least they fixed the memory leakage issue :P

Could have saved you a lot of work to find this tread earlier. As all of it is already implemented in the BoHGB. (Except for tradecontext, which I find to much of a hassle to solve a tiny problem.)

10 ticks is a bit too high..in my opinion

Well, my main reason to switch to the lib was my own observation of the code.
Also the possibility to reduce cpu stress, by calling it less often.
This is what Im going to include in a later time..

Just wanted to say thanks for the set file...
It is nice to have a place to start from that has actually had success... :clap:

I have been playing around with the settings, but as an amateur, there are any combinations.

I am up 6.8% already today (admittedly, the AUD Employment Change had a lot to do with it!) on the daily TF, so it works great!

Anyway, I just want to say thanks for sharing.. :D

Ok, I have to make this clear (again)
I am receiving way too much PM's.
I can't and will not give free support to everyone.
I appreciate the feedback and comments, but can't work with all of them.
It just consumes to much of my precious time.

Do not PM me when: you have...
* a problem with one of Steve's EA's
* a windows problem
* a problem or "improvement" for the HGI
* You are using build 700+
* A request for a very complicated and yet unproven filter idea for one of my EA's
* A problem with your broker
* Are too thick to install an EA
* Your wife is complaining that you are spending to much attention on this forum :yahoo:

I have a whole backlog already of future ideas to implement with this EA.
You are welcome to join me on this journey :)
But I won't change much of direction...
Going to give more attention to the basics then complicated ideas.

While comparing the HGI signals from lib and Indi there is a challenge.
While performing a couple of tests.. here is the following.
I did'nt see a wave on the chart.. But the EA was actually indicating that there was one, a couple of candles back.
On my chart, there was only a small range down arrow.
After reloading the indi, voila.. there it was.. the wavy appeared.

To everyone:
The same the other way around also appears.
So the signal retrevied from the Library can be different from what is shown on the chart if you load up the indi.
Take this into consideration. before posting.
With my previous message I ment that I am also getting way too much messages about this issue.
Do your due dilligence, ONE missed trade does'nt mean a thing.

one additon, there is a issue with missing trades, once the max amount of trades per type has been reached.
The next update will fix this..
(as a temp workaround if this happens to you.. reinit the ea)

with the lib you get always a refreshed direct calculated signal, this is different from indicator if you do not refresh always the indicator..
But for an EA it should be much better to use.
