So with some health problems I have been having, I kind of entered a basket blindly this week. Even though I did that I am only about 150 pips in draw down at the moment. Will see how the week plays out, but I am still in need of bettering my entry's.

I have been looking at a lot of ways to do it, since retracement kind of throws me off a bit. I spent a lot of time reading Al`s thread at FF called Extreme TMA and I think it has really helped me in using the TMA and slope values to enter trades more effectively.

I would love to have a discussion about what successful techniques people are using to enter these baskets. I've entered half a dozen and all but 1 or 2 of them blew up on me. Obviously I am not seeing what it takes to recognize a good entry point. What are the successful folks using?

What's working for me is to use Neo's setup of looking for the TMA slope to cross the 21 MA. I set my charts up at H1, H4, and D1. When 2 have crossed, take a trade. Because of the longer time frame it moves over longer periods. And it has been very successful.

Yes cmeade, I think that would be helpful for everyone.

When 2 pairs have crossed, you open the basket... with which pairs? Everything that looks like it's heading that direction / has the same high/low slope / ...?

Here you go. This is an hourly plot of the Eu/Gbp. The vertical dashed lines are the daily markers, which occur at 5 pm New York time. You can that at 5 yesterday, the H1 TMA slope (which is just underneath the price window) crossed above the 21 SMA. In the window below the H4 TMA slope is already above the 21. And in the D1 window, at the bottom, the TMA slope is below.

And so, with the cross on the H1, you now have 2 TMA slopes above the MA, which means it is time to go long. As you can see this would have been a good trade.

I'm trying to get Paul (or anyone else) to make an EA for these types of setups, because they are pretty reliable.

OK there is a similar setup developing now on the Eur/Usd. Below is a H1 chart, like the one above.

The H1 TMA has crossed below the MA. The D1 TMA is already below the MA.

The Eur/Usd trade is up more than 30 pips now. Same with a long on the Usd/Cad based on a similar set up.
