Hi all some news of FT V2.b fighting with so difficult EURUSD choppy market since 2013 ! The new module CloseOnMaAdaptive is a good weapon Now the big concern is about how to manage long trend market 2009-2012 and then switch to range/choppy market 2013 ! any idea are welcome ! |

Hi Philippe, I try in Marylin X (my eval version) in forward testing a kind of TP setting, idea is if we have a SR Zone (with 1 hit min. nearer as 300pips) we use this zone as tp, if is more distant as 50pips, because trade could be a difficult one to superate the SR Zone...this will be done independet how many trades are open , in Empty4 backend tests it performed with EU 2013 better as without this TP and had set only 3 times TP's in trades (2013 jan-set ) but it was every time right. Too CSS as anti ranging filter could be used, esp non trading if CSS values are ranging in a determinated range, I will test this with one of the CSS eval versions I use for foward test too.. Cheers:) Tommaso |

Just noticed that after the start, I was using %risk lot sizing instead of fixed lot. Fixed this mistake today for future trades Cheers Alex |

Phil, Can you get Forex Tester to produce MFE and MAE diagrams? Or, at the very least a table with MFE and MAE numbers?? If you can, then you will have information to objectively determine the TP and SL ranges. Z |

I think a lot of good work has been done to find good entries. One needs to research better exits. Z |

No such Tools in FT. I already have found good exit, but there are two period 2009-2012 (very strong trend) and 2012-2013 (more range to choppy market) which need different SL/TP. So the main concern, is how to switch between us ! |

My suggestion is to attempt to unlock the "weather" conditions of a currency pair over time (long term, medium term), recent and in the now. The climate (trend) changes over time. The challenge is there are long term trends, medium term trend changes within the long term trend, trend changes within the short term trend .... ...... you get the picture. Short term pull backs may also develop into medium / longer term trend changes. Then there are choppy markets and news that just fluctuates the market. How does one make sense of all of this while finding a solution to the question ..... identifying a trust-worthy sense of the weather conditions of the market ..... is it in a trend and is it holding a reliable trend. Is the trend changing? My suggestion is to find a way to leverage off the hard work that some developers have done on the CSS indicators. It seems as though Currency Strength observations over a monthly, weekly, daily, 4 hourly, etc may give us the sense of the trend through observing the strength of the currency. The challenge that I have been facing is that this interpretation is a manual observation of the CSS lines and their angles of movement over time. The interpretation may be an art and may be a challenge to code. I am still testing this manually. I know we can win this battle because there are many strengths and expert knowledge within Steve's forum .... the answers are there, it is a matter of combining relevant singular parts to formulate something special. Hi Tim Thanks for your post. Really appreciate ! The interpretation may be an art and may be a challenge to code. If you find an interpretation, for sure, I will code it ! I already have a EURUSD CSS code for FT. So let us know if you find something to test. For all, don't hesitate to use this Marylin forum to talk about CSS and weather prevision cheers Philippe |

Hi all, maybe a check how flat CSS of both currencies in the pair, in different TF(H4,D1,W1) is, could give good information about the ranging tendenz, and knowing this the SR can be used to calculate initial TP and initial SL or too forbid any trade in this pair.. Cheers Tommaso |
