Don't know about diverse, had 22 of 26 pairs, but yes, it is going good, 4 taken out for profit last night and still the same pips ahead to start the day; as we know, these baskets can swing around.

Hi Jem, how is your basket doing? I got stopped out with a similar basket this morning with an adaptive SL of 75 (on demo). I guess this SL was too tight.

What kind of tool are u using? ShelleyNow, steve´s MPTM, baluda´s MPBM, another? go manual?
And more important, some important experience or advise about adaptative SL/TP, BE?
Some about RR? what % of the account to risk it´s OK for you? lot sizes? How you deal with swap, especially Jem?

Dentiok there's a lot of questions in there that I've touched on through the journey of this thread. Have a look through old posts by me and you should find some nice hidden gems there relating to all the things you've asked about.

GMS, Bruce – Basket is still open hovering at about -400 pips. It was up 500 pips at the high point so huge retracement back to monthly pivots this week. I'm trying to keep the system as is so I see how it performs consistenyl but at the same time I've found a few ways of exiting early when I see the markets are going to retrace so I don't get into huge DD and I can also close profits. Testing on another account though so not showing those results just yet. Right now keeping the system as is!

The biggest issue I've found is that with a H4/daily strategy there's not many trades taken and it takes a very long time to get enough results to know how the system works. With a scalping strategy in a couple of weeks you can tell how a system is performing but with a longer TF strategy it takes months and months.

I'm looking into something similar - which would be exiting a single pair on retracement confirmation and re-enter the pair if it goes back on trend. It's going to take a lot of testing time to see if it's a good approach or not.

You will clearly see in my anatomically, scientifically and mathematically accurate diagram what is a slight pullback and what is a retracement.

I'm looking into an ATR multiplied by x solution among others. If price crosses over I'll close and then re-enter when I see the retracement losing steam. I really can't explain until it's all sorted but feel free to play around and come up with your own findings. There's plenty of ways of working out what you've asked. The trick is to close the position at a small loss before it goes into a potentially huge retracement.

That's really the trickiest part of basket trading. While I get lots of good baskets, once in a while there is one with a big DD. And if I pull the plug, all previous returns are gone.

It would be great to have a basket tester in order to accelerate H4 basket strategy testing. I found one from 2008, which obviously is no longer supported by its creator: http://www.forex-tsd.com/commercial-tra ... ter-2.html
Couldn't get it to work. Anyone aware of another basket tester?

For me it's more like this:

|-------| This is where the market turns around and shoots back on trend. This is also where I start cursing. Loudly.

Sorry for the off topic:
I have sent an answer to Jem's PM 24 hours ago. When I clicked the Send button, the answer was moved to the "Outbox" folder and has been sitting there since then. Does it mean that it was sent away? When will it move to the "Sent messages" folder? Or is there any further action required on my side to send it away and move it to the "Sent messages" folder?

Sorry again, but I could not find an answer in the Board FAQ.
