I figured it out now. Contrary to an email client, the PM system of the Board works like this: The message moves from the "Outbox" to the "Sent messages" as soon as the receipient of the PM reads the message. gary |

TIME FOR AN UPDATE! It's been awfully quiet in this thread!  Looks like everyone has moved on to the latest and greatest incarnation of Big Mac's / Slopey's / CTS / 10.2a / 10.3 etc. There's so much innovation going on in this forum and I watch every single post that moves around here and love all the new ideas and EA's being pumped out. I really believe in the Big Mac strategy and can't wait to see what else it brings to the table.The original Basket strategy that I posted gave great results when the market trended downwards from April to June and then also worked great when the market turned upward from June to August. Since August the markets have been choppy with no clear daily trends and I've had to adapt the original strategy to ensure that I cut single positons from the basket quick smart when I see them going against me. Yes, there have been some changes to the original Basket strategy. Here's what a current open basket looks like on the original strategy: I've also employed a NEW strategy that uses the TMA for direction rather than strength with some great results. This strategy requires the trader to look at the charts only once a day at the market open and adjust positions accordingly and then leave it alone until the next day. Very simple stuff. I'd like to share with you a basket I opened 2 days ago using this strategy which just hit 1000 pips. Results right now are new and I'm going to need to keep testing these systems without changes for a while before I release them. So right now just saying hi and glad to see you all kicking arse. Original strategy is unchanged bar closing out losing positions. New TMA direction strategy is daily charts. I'm not sure what strategy was discussed in slope/direction thread feel free to link me to the exact post. It does take into account TMA D1 direction changes. |

It seems that your buy/sell decisions are based on the most recent movement of the D1 TMA slope. If it goes up, buy, goes down, sell. Is that right? |

Charles do you have a degree in reverse engineering? cause that's the basic part of it however it's a basket strategy so closing out all positions when the basket gets to a certain % . Still a few things to iron out and as I said really early days so need a bit of testing time before I write out the rules 100%. If you have any ideas feel free to contribute. |

I do have a Ph.D. in geophysics! Looking at a few pairs, I can see where this might go really wrong (e.g, the Au/Cad yesterday, which shot up even though the D1 TMA stepped down). As I commented on the slope/direction thread a few times, I am a big fan of looking at the RSI(2) of the TMA slope. Basically when this gets to extreme values, it tells you that the slope is either going up or down at a rapid rate. And I have found that on the H4 it is a very good predictor of future price movements. I haven't looked too carefully at the D1, but I am sure there are applications there. I'd be happy to correspond with you further about this. |
