I have finished closing up my trades for the year. This is my time to spend with family and finishing up school before Christmas break. I have learned there comes a time when I am done with trading and I have more important things to do. I may visit from time to time but I wont do any serious trading again until after the new year. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Guido,

I have explained this before. You change timeframes from H1 and get different results. Why are you changing timeframes? Keep it on H1. Simple enough, huh? I will repeat once again for those that haven't gotten this by now: There are not enough bars of a pair to get two weeks of (put timeframe here) bars to get correct open and picot and S/R, or two days of (put timeframe here) bars for daily open and pivot and S/R. If there are not enough bars on (put timeframe here), then the results will be wrong. You want to go to a lower (put timeframe here), then you get the results you get. I can't help you.

Sorry, but I tested data on H1 since we are shifting hours to get to our target open time of 17:00 Eastern for the day. The above would be true even if we were using GMT offset instead. Not enough bars on a lower timeframe should be understood as why different results are obtained and why I don't recommend it. Can one go lower than H1? I don't recommend it on AllPairs at all, and on DailyOpenPivotSR or WeeklyOpenPivotSR I only recommend it if having info and comments turned on in user inputs so one can tell when the numbers change and they have went too far down in timeframes that there are not enough bars to get correct data. Only go down to a timeframe that gives same results as H1 and you should be fine.

And if anyone has any OTHER problems at any point when they are using H1, simply go to Indicator's List (control+I), double-click on indicator, go to Inputs tab, click Reset on bottom right of that window, and click OK. This should make Eastern offset correct if the broker is online (their time is moving) and lock it in. I saw someone mention that their offset was way wrong. Did they try this? If not, please do. I must reset my indicators and offline charts I use each time I start Empty4 4 because well, for one, not all the data is available on first tick I've seen many times, so this alone makes it to where I have to do this. I expect others will have to also. Small price to pay to get correct as possible results on chart.

Other than this, I can say anyone can use the indicators I provided or not. I have no plans on creating and/or maintaining another thread. Everything I can possibly say about this subject has been said, has been posted to my webpage to the best of my ability, and at this point I'm just repeating myself. So I will GLADLY digress and say whether or not Bob's strategy is good is not my position to say and not my strategy. The tools I made were to try to help. If the authors of DWM 10.3 and DailyFibs want to point to correct daily and week open prices, they know where to find the code - in my indicators. They can copy as much as they want/need if they want to, or not. I'm basically done.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year early

Don

Hi Don,

thanks for the info. Haven't read that the changing colors are a result of missing data. I will try to reset the indy when i restart Empty4. This is one thing i haven't done.
From your post i read you won't include the fibs into your DailyOpen indy?

Thanks again for your indies and try to relax the rest of the year and merry Christmas
Guido

PS: i loaded history data using a script and changed timeframes to H1/H4/D1 but the eastern offset stays at 96726 ... So using manual mode then ...JFYI

Post subject:  Fib indy versions difference Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SY

Can anyone explain the differences between 10.3a D.Fib DPSx/Rx and the #Daily Pivot Fib 11?
Yamez and I seem to be getting different results Fib3 vs Fib5 sit for USDJPY NY Wed afternoon), and my intention is to use just one template that combines Bob's 10.3 template and Phil's CT addition.

So USDJPY did go up a lot after FOMC, and might just do several retraces before a strong up trend. With the Dec 16 Sunday Japanese elections hinging on whether much more JPY weakening is needed given FOMC's consistent dollar printing (or weak dollar policy), Japan has no choice. If you look at the JPY crosses they have all made a very nice bowl pattern over months and are poised for a strong move up after a couple weeks of volatility.

Such JPY pairs long term up trend might turn out to be the New Year present we all need !

hilavoku,

Well, yes the changing of the colors do happen even when the indicator is working correctly, and what color they go to depends on the Order of the pivots, daily open, and price.

Cheers.
