sq has advised to Set DaysBack to 400, and Bob & steve all set the daysback=60. which would better? more days history data means more accurate? I have noticed different S/R data after set daysback to 400. what condition to change the value? I search the forum fond that you sometime change its value to 80, sometime 300.. |

it is necessary to increase the DaysBack when the indicator "looses ground"; EU is sailing in watters that were last visited in january, so 60 days is not enough to get S levels anymore. 400 will get us back to nov 2010, which is not even far enough anymore now, as we are approaching the low of january; Just open a Daily chart, and look when PA gives you enough ground. I would suggest to raise it to 600 now, which leads us to april 2010, with a ground set at 1.18xx, plenty of room until we reach that... This is for EU only, because adding more history means loading more D1 S/R lines along the road, and therefore more "older" SR lines displayed, which is not what we want; these "older" SR lines, eventhough Daily, have less importance on the present, especially when PA has gone thru these levels many times in the past. This is why using the indicator with H4 lines should only be used with a very low DaysBack; The template i posted yesterday has H4 SR lines displayed, but DaysBack set to only 10 days, so we are not flooded with meaningless old H4 levels. A rule of thumb would be to play with DaysBack until the chart doesn't get to cluttered... Should EU decide to sail north in the 1.33+ watters again, i would lower DaysBack to 100 or so (sep 2011), so as to only keep the recent D1 lines again. I understand it is quite frustrating not to have a "figure-it-all" indicator. The EA performance will be very much depending on the quality of the SR levels it is trading from, and at this stage it means finding the right settings for EACH pair using the above advice; It means keeping an eye on PA approaching its maximum range and ADJUSTING these settings accordingly, and that is for EACH given pair; Adding some automated "out-of-range" detection in the indicator would be much beneficial. Last advice: make sure your history and the number of bars displayed on the chart are large enough to cope with the DaysBack setting, otherwise you won't get the expected levels. Sq |

thanks Steve, that will definitely be helpful. My "overnight" TP at 2970 was missed by... just 2 little pips ... Closed at BE while sleeping anyway. That is expected to happen sometimes... hitting S/R levels to-the-pip is not written in stone after all... I should have kept it safer by allowing a small buffer. Better to bank 18-instead-of-20 than nothing! Rince and repeat. Next entry sell at 2963, SL hit again... Rince and repeat. We are looking for some 80p south to 2873 anyway, so i can afford a few -10's until that... Sq |

Steve: I think I recall that the JS is now linked to an active BE. The default BE is now false, but the screen shows JS to be active, with default settings of JS true. Is this as intended? Glenn |

Yes. I have broken the link so that JS is independent of BE. Cheers |

hi, steve, can you resolve the stoploss problem with ECN broker? it's a litter boring though I can set a big value. A simple way is to let user select whether he use a ECN broker, if yes then no add a stoploss to exist opened orders. just a advise, I 'm a 2 months newbile at forex market. Strange: this forum always change "b r o k e r" to "criminal" Automatic, does it think private forex trader is criminal like in China? |
