July 23 2013: I have reached a little over 300% in four months with a floating drawdown of around 35%. If this were an actual account I would be trading my risk substantially lower to keep DD below 15% so I would still have a very good equity profit just not at 300%. My trading style though is reflected accurately in the trading journal. I am much more a visual trader then an indicator/EA trader. So today I will stop this trading account and start a new demo with the objective of keeping DD below 15% and see what sort of monthly returns that I can accrue using my Heiken Ashi/Visual strategy. I will leave the myfxbook account up for now. I will call the new one TraderDesk Alpha 15% to keep it simple.... |

nice! any idea what caused the 35% DD in your case? I thought your MM was to close trades when they exceed 10%? |

Your correct but that is with my real money account.  Here I was trading as demo so I decided to risk higher. Now I will do a new demo to reflect more my MM style that I use hence I will keep DD down to 15%.I will open a new trade journal tonight to get it started... |

It is a smooth HA that I had found a long time ago on forexfactory. I have posted one here as an attachment for you to play with. This one has an alert popup as well. |

Been awhile since my last post but back again trying out some new strategies from 10.6 CSS and FastTMAline as well as GANNS lines... My real account that I use for testing out various strategies will also been used for this as well. For this coming week I will be looking at a few currency pairs like GBPUSD, GBPAUD and GBPJPY. Others will be played depending on CSS and GANN, FastTMAlines positions.... One potential trade for tomorrow is GBPUSD. Taking a look at the below Daily chart Price has touch the lower Daily Gann line. STO7 has bottomed out but daily CSS shows for this pair show GBP with weakness in respect to the USD. Now looking at the 4 hour chart Price is touching both GANN and 4 hour FastTMAline lower lines. 4 hour CSS is showing USD strength weakening while GBP is staying flat. STO7 is starting to strengthen as well. I am looking to add a buy position 1.6496 market price with my first TP at 1.6550 level, second TP 1.6630 level and longer-term swing cycle third TP level at 1.6750. If Price should drop further down I will add a second buy position at 1.6440 level and will close that around 1.66 area or will re-evaluate depending on market snapshot. Now I am not to sure if ExtremeTMA should be set for .40 or .20 for trending markets as FF shows .40 and on 10.6 thread shows .20. Any suggestions would be welcome... Also any suggestions with this strategy would be welcome as well... |

I have close out two longs from my previous post at 1.6550 and 1.6630. I do have one more target at 1.6750 but I have taken my profit and if I see a better entry level I might take it. I would prefer to take another buy at around 1.6650 and 1.6550 but will wait to see how the market shakes out... |

Closed out my GBPUSD final trade as I see signs of exhaustion in price action. Open short in EURJPY at around 142.52 level with a TP at around 141.80 level. The TP can changed but for now I have it set to the above level. If price should go higher I have set a Sell-limit order at the 143.18 level with a TP for 142.2 level for now...See 4 hour chart below... Daily CSS has EUR at bottom with JPY crossing down the -0.2 line but 4 hour CSS is beginning to show JPY recovering though EUR is still going up. H4 slope is mildly positive at 0.14 in the trend range though D1 and W1 are bullish at.0.26 and 0.35 respectively. Price is above the H4 TMA as well as the H1 TMA. Price is at the upper descending daily channel line. Based on the above I am looking for a counter-trend on the hourly TMA and have set up a sell with TP levels based on the hourly chart. Since the H4 TMA is ranging it is likely to hit the lower H1 TMA level before a resumption higher. There is a possibilty price will look for the lower line of H4 TMA as well but I will have to wait to see what happens in the next day or so... Any comments is always appreciated... |

Took a short on GBPCAD at the 1.8396 level. I did not see the earlier spike to 1.8455 otherwise I would of enter at this level but I have a Sell-limit order now in place if we have another spike up. Take profit for now is around the 1.8338 area which is above the ADR low for the pair. H4 TMA slope is trending down so I favor sells for this pair. If price breaks the HA 4 hour level for at least two bars then I could move TP down to the 1.83 level as well... As always comments are welcome... |
