Just looking through my Simple Bob test trades. I got a EURUSD buy trade with Stoch pinned above 90. I can't seem to figure out why this trade was taken at this spot. Anyone else have this trade ?

On a different topic, this particular chart would argue for inclusion of a break of the pivots as a trade trigger in addition to the 100 lines.

Well, the test week already passed and it´s obvious that using the rule of not trading within MA lines would have saved us a lot more pips than the occasional random winning trade, and of course only buying when MA60 > MA240 and sell when MA60 < MA240.
Also entering below/above DP seems to be a good idea as well.
Moreover, it doesn´t look like it´s respecting the basic STO7 rule either, look at this gbpcad buy trade opened when it was at about 80, resulting in an inmediate loss...

Thanks Steve and Bob for all your efforts!

Hey, why suddenly the activity on this great thread came to a halt? :(

I will add this some time this week.

Seems to be? Is it or isn't it?

It is respecting the rules I coded as described in post 1. The majority of a buy move comes when Stoch is > 80, and a sell move when < 20. The way most people use Stoch is wrong. I have done this many times myself in the past, and so know how wrong it is.

Great, thanks!

It is, i think there´s no need to add sample screenshots to prove it...
Also if DP / x.000 is closer to price, it should discard the other for that trade in order to avoid duplication. Guess that´s something obvious :)

Oh, so that´s kind of contradiction for Bob´s NB and also BASA rules for re-entry... isn´t it?
I´m a little puzzled about it now because i can clearly see in charts that when Stoch is > 80 for a buy the move starts to lose steam... Am i missing something? :?

Greetings!

Hey guys, a quick stop-by to let you know I have not forgotten about this.

It makes sense to me to make sure that BASA is up and running with all the trade stacking/breakeve/part-close stuff correct. It is an easy job from there to adapt BASA to alternative trade triggers - which is what Simple Bob becomes as soon as we add the second moving average for trend detection.

More to come at some point - probably this week but not sure.

V 1h is in post 1.

Ok, so Simple Bob ain't so simple any more, but SB was a guaranteed loser so it hardly matters. He now only trades in the direction indicated by the double moving average and the market has to be on the correct side of the 60.

I have added consideration of the Daily and Weekly pivots - the trade will abort if there is a pivot in between the market and the take profit.

Do not use this on a live account. Apart from the unproven nature of the bot's trading strategy, the code might have bugs.

I forgot to add that users choosing to use risk-based lot sizes will see a lot size displayed that is a simulated buy based on the chosen stop loss, to give you an idea of what to expect. Watch the default - I forgot to turn it off before uploading.
