is there any chance we can get a combined version of the H4 stochastic buy and H4 stochastic sell so that we don't need to switch between the two ea's. |

Greetings from snowmageddon on the East Coast! I'm currently in the process of checking out the flexible Stochastic Buy/Sell EAs. Last night I noticed some odd behavior (demo acct) that I haven't quite nailed down yet but may (likely) be due to user error... I really like the concept however because it seems like a good way to look for profits when the H1 is in a range. Can anyone that has tested one or both of the flexible/other Stochastic EAs show their user settings? Also, to get the EA to do the waiting around for me after I've identified an entry point, I'm interested to see if I can use these EAs (Stoch) to supervise multiple pairs at the same time (loading the EA to each with their specified settings). I could not find a warning not to but thought I'd ask in-case this is not recommended. |

I have placed a clear description of what the EA's are intended for in post 1. Experiment on demo to find other ways to use them.

Re the platform freezing thingy. For those of you who have not experienced this, here is what happens. The EA sends a trade, then the platform freezes. It is an intermittent problem. For me, it has usually happened (I think) when using the 10.6 Stochastic EA's (not those bloody flexible thingies that have caused me endless grief, which I loathe and regret being stupid enough to code, and which I shall never ever use and whose use is only contemplated by a certifiable lunatic). Thingy is, all the EA's have the same basic engine. The only difference comes in the code that takes the decision to fire the trade. That is it. From there on in, the code is identical. Unless it isn't, but code watchers here are usually very quick to pick me up on inconsistencies - the reason my code is mostly watertight these days.  Second thingy is: I run two computers. The lappy in my music room is always on whilst the markets are open. It handles my trading; I call it my trading machine. Second computer is in our living room and I use it to code my EA's. I call it my coding machine. Trading machine is youthful, fast and runs Windows 7. My coding machine is old. It wheezes a lot. It barely runs Windows XP pro. I have to shut down svchost.exe every now and again (ignore this if you do not understand it). Trading machine hosts the live trading platform that the Stoch EA's freeze - the youthful one full of vim, vigour and live. The coding machine (brain-dead) never freezes when the ea's fire a trade. Conclusions: there is a problem with Crapdows 7; well, yeah, it is a Craprosoft product, so obviously there is. There is a problem with Empty4; well yeah, obviously etc. I am going to try installing a fresh version of Empty4 to run my live GP account, and see if this solves the freezing problem. It might be a while before this is proven, because I mostly use the Stop EA's and these do not appear to cause a problem. Which they should, if the problem is caused by Crapdows 7 or Empty4. Anybody tried this stuff with ProTrader? |

Dear Mr Hopwood I noticed while trading, that sometimes the market goes against us, gets a second trade in the game and then storms back into our direction. The sad part is that when that happens we get taken out at BE and miss out on any profits. I would like to request if possible a BE+ pips option... or if this is available and I am an idiot who has went the last two weeks leaving major profit, can you kindly show me where Thank you in advance |

Something crazy just happened with my live account, using the H4 Stochastic Buy. Just happened to check my phone when I found it was taking USDJPY trades, and closing them, like crazy. Maybe 30, 40 trades? The same EA seems to be behaving normally on several other pairs. Here is a sample log from the Experts file. 2014.01.23 20:00:33 Steve's 10.6 trading aid EA - Stochastic H4 buy USDJPY,H4: close #2103334441 buy 0.03 USDJPY at 103.571 sl: 102.571 at price 103.550 2014.01.23 20:00:28 Steve's 10.6 trading aid EA - Stochastic H4 buy USDJPY,H4: open #2103334441 buy 0.03 USDJPY at 103.571 sl: 102.571 ok The EA is OOTB, with the exception of modifying the lot size. Obviously I don't have a clue, would anyone else? File attached. |
